Hard hitting truths gay men aren't ready to hear?

When I moved to London, one of my Uni friends told me… when you’re a gay man in a city, if you aren’t attractive, wealthy, well connected or sociable, you’re in for an incredibly harsh ride with the fellow community.

Being a chubby introvert from the country… I found this to be very, very true.

Sending love and hugs to you babe

Maybe you just don’t fit in with gay men, that’s certainly the impression I get from speaking to you

I do fit in with gay men. two of my closest friends are gay trans men. my closest college friend is an anti-social, hilarious, sexy, nerdy cis gay man. we've hooked up a lot in our friendship, but it's never been based on that fact. another good friend is a loud, occasionally aggressive, ultimately sympathetic and funny cis gay man who's turning 30 soon. my brother, who is tied with my sister as the sibling I'm closest to out of the four, is a gay man. hell, most guy fwbs I have are gay men and not bi lol. they just so happen to be that way, just like I so happen to be one of the many bi men they're comfortable around. so no, you don't know me, but now you know that I have so many gay men in my life I love and treasure. so ya :cm:

Y'all shouldn't be naked at pride, nobody wants to see that, there are other ways of fighting for your rights than showing your genitals to strangers on the street

I've no idea what Mardi Gras is, but I'm against any type of nudity/sexual acts on public, so...

Some of us call very reasonable rules “oppression” even though it wouldn’t be ok if a straight person did it either.

The restaurant not letting you in wearing a mesh tank top isn’t homophobic, being asked to wear something more than a jockstrap at Pride isn’t oppression, being asked not to be obnoxious, loud, and talk about sex in public isn’t censorship. Act like responsible, respectful adults in public, because you’re representing an already scrutinized community and not doing us any favors.

Your trauma is yours to deal with, stop lashing out at other people because you're not happy with yourself. It won't make you any happier in the long run and it will just push people away.

I hate how people say that the reason why some gay men who love older gay men is because they have repressed daddy issues they haven't dealt with.

Thanks sis. There’s no greater motivator to lose 3 stone than your own community giving you the cold shoulder :rip:

Not the worst thing the bisexuals have to deal with is people assuming their straight while gay men and lesbian women deals with actual material violence.

OT: Alot of y'all grew up to be the bullies you resented for bullying you.

if a man says he's str8 i believe them. but they prob are (bi) but it's not my job to tell someone what their sexuality is tbh.

it honestly shocks me how condoms have become a relic of the past for gayz... as if other STDs don't exist. I've noticed when I hook up with men who typically hook up with women they're way more likely to use condoms then guys who exclusively only sleep with other men. I feel like it this area the community has gone backwards. yes, prep is great but u still need to protect yourself.

Like what are you talking about? Biphobia?

I also don’t see specifically straight passing, closeted bisexual people as really part of my community

These statements being back to back, thank you for giving a perfect example of what biphobia is :deadbanana4:
