fauxtography Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 Totally their fault. Cant search tags, no timeline options, forced timeline is too corporate. The first week with weak features was somewhat forgivable, but almost a month later and its still lacking basic social media features. Yeah, Mark launched a wee bit too soon. 13
May Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 my director wanted me to get us on threads and i told him no bc it’ll be flopping within a month glad to see i was right just another Google+ 2 2
Odette Violet Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 It's boring and ugly. They need to improve everything in it if they want people to switch.
Windy Day Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 deserved. i dont understand why it takes so long to update with basic features while twitter had the time to completely rebrand and launches new features every two weeks since threads launched
Devin Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 Its their fault. They put no effort into the app, they just did it to spite and invite Twitter users. 1
Uncatena Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 1 minute ago, Devin said: Its their fault. They put no effort into the app, they just did it to spite and invite Twitter users. exactly! they thought they could win over jumping Twitter users but then it was just twitter but without ANY of the features that make it fun. 2
Kuntmonster Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 I hate the dark theme, not sure if you can change it, and it seems kind of reductive anyway. it might have made sense if it was just part of the Instagram app, and you had a separate tab for threads or whatever. But I don’t see any reason to use it over Twitter
Bloodflowers. Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 I thought this would be about ATRL, that is how irrelevant this "Threads" thing is, a Google+ tea 1
Dula Peep Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 Besides Facebook kinda copying MySpace... has copying an already existing app/platform ever worked? Especially one thats been around for ten years.
JonginBey Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 (edited) Made an account the day it was available, saw the forced timeline and no DM option, and then dipped. Edited July 31, 2023 by JonginBey
Artist Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 Threads will be fine. Mark just needs the updates and to pay influencers to use it.
Smarticle Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 seeing 0 - 50 likes on the popular influencers i follow doesn't help
Beyonnaise Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 I mean Twitter itself isn't even used by much of the population, and it's declining. This just tells me text-based social media is losing. 2
John Slayne Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 the app is half-baked and not even available in the EU. Meta should've waited before releasing it
Blue Jeans Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 What is it even for? To post quotes and daily ruminations? I cringe if I try to post just text or try to be funny. Photos FTW
Illuminati Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 (edited) The initial numbers were high because Instagram users could just use it with existing accounts afaik (haven't used it myself), so it's not surprising that it was frontloaded. The lack of some basic functionality didn't help. But Meta can just keep throwing money at it and copy things that various other apps provide to make it more appealing, just like they did with all their products. Wbk that it wasn't gonna be the app people gravitate to, we need someone with fresh ideas to take on Twitter Edited July 31, 2023 by Illuminati
