It's not Billboard fault if those flop artists try to make it look like they are big by those fraudulent tactics, it's harder for them to filter those fake sales.

At the very least, Billboard needs to lower the weight that sales have on its charts. It was pretty clear that Barbie was the biggest event the previous week, but didn’t get the #1 because a few thousand fans bought the NewJeans album. The Barbie soundtrack has like 5 hits, compared to maybe one for NewJeans. That should tell you which is the bigger album.

In any case, Billboard needs to be quicker in tabulating these results. The UK and ARIA official charts have been out since Friday.

Yes, Billboard needs to be quicker, but also ARIA and UK charts doesn't have the same problem as Billboard to count fraudulent sales, cause no one try frauds for their charts.

If extra sales help Travis hit #1 on the hot 100...

Why are people still bothered by Travis's sales boosts when they buy 50-11 copies of their faves stuff like many stans do?

Travis is getting another #1 either way.

You don't see their album numbers getting a 85k boost out of nowhere in the last few tracking minutes tho

As it seems to happen for Billboard, some label has to request an audit once they see shady tactics like this in order to get everything 'well' before the chart gets released

No. I don't see when artists pull a last hours/days not minutes stunt resulting in a boost that it is a problem.

just like last week the fake numbers will be removed. This is nothing new.

I wonder which label requested an audit...

Why? And you are going to still be perched like the rest of us chart geeks over information we already had unofficially since Friday.

Calm down.

They are going to reveal the charts soon enough
