ATRL Moderator wehavetostan Posted July 29, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted July 29, 2023 Wicked: Part One and Wicked: Part Two are scheduled to be released on November 27, 2024 and November 25, 2025, respectively. Although still over a year away, the relationship between the co-stars Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater has been all over the news. The question remains how the films will be impacted by the controversy. Of course, ATRL does not represent the opinion of the GP, but it would be interesting to see how the relationship has affected some moviegoers’ opinion.
illia Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 No, I never cared about it in the first place, Ariana or not 2
HEAVYONIT Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 (edited) Yes to both. It’s one of the best musicals of all time, so there’s no way I’d miss it Edited July 29, 2023 by Black Jesus
ATRL Moderator feelslikeadream Posted July 29, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted July 29, 2023 The promo is going to be so messy, especially if they've already broken up by then
TaylorNation Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 as a Broadway nerd and musical stan yes, this movie is going to be an event and they should be taking notes from the Barbie marketing team. that being said, I have been very vocal about disliking the casting since day one
Lovett Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Yes, I'm extremely excited to see the films. It's the most anticipated movie musical adaptation for decades. I couldn't care less about the personal drama between actors.
Jude Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Ariana is not the only person involved in that movie wtf. Don't punish others for someone's doings. Regardless I'd still watch it. 1
wildsidenormani Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Yes tf I'm sorry but thats my mama, yall can never turn me against her 1 1
wxvii Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Why would anyone opt out of seeing a film because two co-stars are dating? 2 1
Dialamba Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 I didn’t care about this mess anyway. I just want some music
DeepEnd Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Who cares that she's a home wrecker, shes talented and pretty. 1
Into The Void Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 (edited) I never planned on it anyway Its still over a year away the bad press is now it may not be affected as much Edited July 29, 2023 by Insanity

DamianSolo Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 I've been looking forward to this film ever since it was announced. I've never watched the Broadway play before, but I've always loved the source material and wanted to watch it. So, this will be a great consolation—seeing the film. I'm not going to not see it just because of Ariana, when she's not even the reason I was wanting to see it in the first place. I just want to see the movie.
Badgalbriel Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 No. Who the hell considered watching a Wizard of Oz movie though.
cOe Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 I'll watch it like I did with DWD. The mess sold it for me 1
Witchpop Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 The broadway show is flawless, I will see if it compares

And as for other production announcements, the split in two parts makes sense as well for so many reasons. 2 1
BrokenMachine Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 (edited) Well, Ariana was one of the minor reasons for me to see Wicked, even before this drama. I'm going to see it because of the songs, the plot, to see how well they adapt the stage play into a film, etc Edited July 29, 2023 by BrokenMachine
