Wicked: Part One and Wicked: Part Two are scheduled to be released on November 27, 2024 and November 25, 2025, respectively. Although still over a year away, the relationship between the co-stars Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater has been all over the news.

The question remains how the films will be impacted by the controversy. Of course, ATRL does not represent the opinion of the GP, but it would be interesting to see how the relationship has affected some moviegoers’ opinion.

I wasn't gonna see it to begin with.

Yes to both. It’s one of the best musicals of all time, so there’s no way I’d miss it :michael:

The promo is going to be so messy, especially if they've already broken up by then :rip:

as a Broadway nerd and musical stan yes, this movie is going to be an event and they should be taking notes from the Barbie marketing team.

that being said, I have been very vocal about disliking the casting since day one :foxaylove2:

Yes, I'm extremely excited to see the films. It's the most anticipated movie musical adaptation for decades. :duca: I couldn't care less about the personal drama between actors.

Ariana is not the only person involved in that movie wtf. Don't punish others for someone's doings. Regardless I'd still watch it.

Why would anyone opt out of seeing a film because two co-stars are dating? :rip:

There's literally nothing to dislike, everyone is perfectly cast

the Ariana set pics turned things around, but reactions to every single production announcement have been negative unless you get your news from PopCrave sis (with the exception of Michelle and Jonathan who, as you say, have been “perfectly cast”)

I've been looking forward to this film ever since it was announced. I've never watched the Broadway play before, but I've always loved the source material and wanted to watch it. So, this will be a great consolation—seeing the film. I'm not going to not see it just because of Ariana, when she's not even the reason I was wanting to see it in the first place. I just want to see the movie. :michael:

No. Who the hell considered watching a Wizard of Oz movie though.

Was never going to see that...

Cynthia Erivo will be the perfect Elphaba, Ariana will be the perfect Glinda, Ethan Slater is an obvious Boq, Marissa Bode will be a perfect Nessa, Bowen Yang and Bronwyn James as Glinda's besties makes sense, like what's there not to like? And as for other production announcements, the split in two parts makes sense as well for so many reasons.

Well, Ariana was one of the minor reasons for me to see Wicked, even before this drama. I'm going to see it because of the songs, the plot, to see how well they adapt the stage play into a film, etc
