Devin Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 Respected >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Respect and how you carry yourself will actually gain like in the long run.
EtherealCat Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 if they dont respect you then they dont really like you 1
HausOfPunk Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 There is definitely overlap between the two. You can't truly respect someone without liking them a little bit. And when you like someone, that means you have a basic level of respect for them. That being said, I would rather be respected.
réveuse Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 Being liked feels good. But being respected sounds a whole lot better. 1
State of Grace. Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 Being worshipped Spoiler Irdgaf about being liked. Respect >>>>>>
JungleJuice Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 I don't think you can respect something without liking it as well 1
Da Vinci Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 Being respected People can like you but still be condescending or patronizing towards you 3 1
Keter Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 Being liked but not respected means you’re some kind of endearing idiot. That sounds terrible.

Some parents are like the "cool" mom with no rules and their kids actually do like them but when they try to enforce the rules they just laugh at them. Same with some bosses at work.
Kayseri Mantisi Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 Some people in this forum doesn't like the queen of rap (Nicki Minaj) but they respect her. So the answer is clear.
Kern Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 (edited) I used to care about being liked at work but now I know that's not how it goes. Respect is what you gain from not caring about being liked period Edited July 27, 2023 by the70s 1
Dessy Posted July 27, 2023 Posted July 27, 2023 Being liked is fine but being respected get you much further

Otherwise youre just fearfull and not really respectable
zasderfght Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 As a teacher, I absolutely prefer being respected to being liked; however, if you want your workers/students/clients to work for you, they need to like you to some degree.
DamianSolo Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 As someone who's spent years in management, I definitely would rather be respected—and through that, liked. Being solely liked and not respected is a terrible spot to be in; between the two, it's definitely better to be solely respected.
Theshigo Washidu Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Respected. I don't care about being liked. I am indie.
Alldeezy Posted July 29, 2023 Posted July 29, 2023 Respected. nobody likes me anyways but being disrespected makes my blood boil.
