They should really stop using global *whatever* bc it's obviously not global. Climate gets more extreme but it's different in different parts of the world. Last time they announced "the hottest year ever" we had +15 C half of the summer.

Weren’t people happy to see that? I’ve seen so many people talk about how the population is too high and we need a disaster to decrease the amount of people.

however property won’t mean much if it’s near the water. Sea levels are also rising.

I don’t think the people saying that are the ones in danger (which makes it even more gross)

The ones that will suffer the most from climate change are the ones already most vulnerable on earth. Everyone using this website will be fine

While yearly fluctuations will differ from region to region, the overall trend is global.

New York State is now classified as SUB TROPICAL, east coast will become like Florida. West coast will be partially underwater. The south will legit be uninhabitable.

Buying a home in somewhere like Wisconsin seems to be the best decision you could do these days.

I am ready to have palm trees in NYC :duca:

But seriously, if it is this humid and hot in NYC in summer I cannot imagine what it is like further south. I think Alabama and such will be the worst places for living anywhere in the world later this century. Extremely humid, hot, and massive thunderstorms/tornadoes/hurricanes.

When next summer we hit another record 130 degrees day…. And every summer it gets hotter:rip:

and people still think it’s fake.

It's like saying that overall temperature of hospital patients is close to zero because of the dead ones in the freezer.

Warming "trend" is only happening because hot parts of the world are getting even hotter and this effect is bigger than "cooling" from the parts that are freezing. But there's nothing "global" about it.

Areas of sustained cooling or lack of warming are very rare across literally the entire globe, and more than a sufficient amount of the world is warming to call the trend global.

People like you are part of the problem.

And people going ''good!! WE deserve it!!1" are the same. I don't and MANY others also don't deserve **** because of the actions of a few. THEY are the problem and ALL OF US are going to suffer and already suffering because of THEM.

This is what happens when corporations run around unchecked. We're constantly told to change our behaviour at an individual level and while that does contribute in some way, it is these corporations and bigwigs that are the main cause behind this. Too bad most of them are in the back pockets of governments around the world and any change will both not be meaningful or fast enough.

To paraphrase a Reddit post I read some weeks back, to seriously arrest the climate change issue, governments will need to severely curtail the use of planes and cars such that people only travel for absolutely essential reasons, amongst many other severe restrictions that will have a grave impact on modern life as we know it. (The curtailment of movement/flying already happened from 2020 to 2022, though.)

There was also an article that I read the other day about some places becoming uninsurable in the future. I guess humanity really is doomed.

I think humans will in general tend to have fewer children in the later part of the 21st century, but it will be too little too late.

Kind of a weird thought but something about climate change threatening everyone on the planet makes me believe we’ll work together to solve this or at least all suffer together. At least we’ll all be bonded together by something.

I know it’s wishful thinking, especially considering there are posts in this thread still trying to refute the fact that we’re literally on fire, but I’d rather be hopeful than ruin my time on this planet with gloom and doom 24/7 :gaycat6:
