Impressive for a fad with only 3 successful albums and 5 in total in her discography to be up there with Gaga who had a career repeak and twice the albums in her discography and with Lana who is going strong because of the Taylor influenced singer songwriter sad girl gig with twice as many albums too. :clownny:

How come she's not above Lana on this list then

It’s not weird

More people listen to Katy while Lana gets more streams per unique listener, which is usually the case when an artist recently released an album (= more replay value)

LMAO this monthly listeners thing is such a scam by Spotify.  When you look at that list you might actually thing Taylor is just barely leading when in fact she's the only one whose actual streams match the monthly listeners numbers. Nobody else other than Lana is even above 20M daily streams.

…maybe because the people who stream Taylor have an unparalleled number of recent songs from her to stream everyday

there’s no direct correlation between unique listeners and streams. An artist whose last album dropped ages ago obviously has less replay value than one who recently released

She has several songs pulling 500k+ daily including Last Friday Night that's nearing the 1M/day

And iirc Gaga heavily promoted Bloody Mary earlier this year (tik tok, sent to radios, huge playlisting.. etc)

anytime katy surpasses Gaga in any kind of 'metric' (this time being a pointless payola one) you guys get emboldened. Her last album spent a  month on a chart of 200 places. Great! her old songs from decades ago go viral, there is demand :duca:

ot:

monthly listeners mean nothing but playlisting increases, but get it katy!

Even when Taylor had less monthly listeners , her listeners use to stream more on ratio of streams/listeners

You can compare even before lover , her streams to listener ratio was high compared to other pop girls

It's simple, her catalog had more interest

Kinda surprised she’s that close to Lana, I guess people who listen to Lana listen to her a lot because in daily streams she is far higher than Katy

I’m sorry but did you just say that Lana was influenced by…. Taylor? Are Katy fans actually this delusional? :deadbanana2:

It’s funny how now that Katy surpasses Gaga this metric is pointless and not relevant

That's not what I said. I said that Taylor influenced the industry in a way that benefits Lana a lot. The entire singer songwriter era that we live in and a massive increase in popularity for Lana is thanks to Taylor. Of course Taylor was influenced by Lana but it's Taylor that made it cool and trendy.

no you just don't understand how it works, if i listen to just ONE song by Lana on July 26th and never again, I will still be counted as Lana's one monthly listener until a month later (August 26th)

And that means nothing. What's the point of having more monthly listeners and still pull less streaming numbers than people with less monthly listeners?

...................... it means reaching more people? :dies: be it one stream or 1000 streams from each listeners

So it still means nothing. It just means your song was auto played, but that person made no effort whatsoever to discover your music.

….or maybe that person only wanted to stream 1 or 2 songs from that artist that day ? 💀 whether it be a casual or huge fan, like… is that a crazy concept to you

especially for artists who haven’t released new material in a long time

Because it means you have more fans than the person with less monthly listeners...? It means your music has reached more people...?

Monthly listeners are not the number of fans. It's the number of people who listened to at least 30 seconds of your music during that month. It's related to playlist exposure, not the amount of fans. Do you seriously think Katy Perry, the fanbase-less queen, has more fans than anyone in the industry? :deadbanana2:

Lana did not benefit from “Taylor’s influence” in any way so thank you for nothing. She made classic albums which were ahead of their times and resurged due to tiktok.
