Spotify on Monday announced it will increase the price of its Premium subscription offerings as much as $2, which translates to a 20% increase for some plans.

The company said the market landscape has “continued to evolve” since Spotify launched, and that the changes will help the company “continue to deliver value to fans and artists,” according to a blog post.

In the U.S., Spotify’s Premium Individual offering now costs $10.99, up from $9.99, and the price of its Premium Duo plan changed to $14.99, up from $12.99. The company’s Premium Family plan is now priced at $16.99, up from $15.99, and the Student offering costs $5.99, up from $4.99.

Not surprising; offering everything that they offer for that price point isn't sustainable

my premium went from 6 euros to 6.5, which is honestly not bad. it's still a great deal for what they offer and how much I use it

Again?

Netflix is much more expensive while they only offer a limited selection of content but on Spotify you can probably find 98% of all the music ever released. I would not mind paying even more if that means artists would be significantly better compensated.

I will now pay $200 (Mexican pesos) for the family plan. Before I was paying $179. It's not much of an increase, but from increase to increase... I hope it doesn't go up anymore. I would only pay a little more if they offered the highest quality sound.

I'm currently using both, because Joni Mitchells disco and Dolby Atmos is only on apple but I prefer Spotify. It's easier to handle and the custom playlist are better, in my opinion.
