Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 (edited) Movies, Tv, or Music. Do you ever feel like you have to much content at your disposal that you can’t choose and just get bored? Edited July 24, 2023 by Gorjesspazze9
SoldierofLove Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Yes for shows. I’ve started a number of shows that I don’t have the desire to continue watching. Movies are still ok. I’m more picky and intentional about what I want to watch so I don’t feel like I’m just hitting play for the sake of having something in the background. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of streaming music. 4
popmusicisdead Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 yes. i remember the feeling of anticipation i used to have when i was illegally downloading movies and the download was slow. i don't get that these says. often times i start watching something and i just end up scrolling on Instagram 1
GentleEarthquake Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 I don't have to access to any streaming platform
RobynYoBank Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Music, no. But TV and movies, YES. They really need to add programming to the streaming platforms. 1
Gorjesspazze9 Posted July 24, 2023 Author Posted July 24, 2023 I do for TV shows with multiple seasons. I get tired after about 3 seasons even if the show is good. Sometimes movies too, I end up scrolling on my phone after a hour🤭 but that’s probably just cuz I’m chronically online not so much on music, as I always make a thousand playlists and never really get tired of it. I agree a programming block feature on streaming apps would be kinda cool. It might seem counterintuitive but I think the option would be cool as an alternative.
Kuromi Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 (edited) nah I feel like I don't consume enough content actually there are so many movies and series that are popular which I never watched, but now I'm getting more into streaming and I like how much variety there is for me Edited July 24, 2023 by Kuromi
Katamari Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 omg yes. I really wish these platforms would introduce a shuffle option for a season or something
Dialamba Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 I don’t even both with US shows (minus Scream franchise) And only watch k-dramas they are by far more entertaining Grover I could finish a 16 episodes drama in few days now I struggled even with Netflix shows. I’m not invested anymore. But I go to cinema more often lately.
Mordecai Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 I feel like I get stuck in musical 'dry spells' much more often than I used to, and that comes down to two things - first I feel like music doesn't have as much staying power for me as it used to. I could go months listening to the same songs and be obsessed with them, now it seems like I'll stick with a song for 1-2 months before moving onto something else. Second, streaming makes it harder for me to become invested in artists - before streaming you had to pay to listen to specific songs/albums so there was a financial aspect so you really had to want to listen to it and you made sure to get your money's worth. Music videos were still popular so you got to physically see the artist and there was a visual element to the music. Now everything is a click of a button away and because there's so much out there in such a decentralised manner there's so much content to sift through so it's much harder to connect with an artist (well at least for me anyway) Film and TV though? Nah, there's so much out there but I pick what movies/shows I watch carefully so they're usually worth my while 2
BGKC Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Definitely, in most cases I just stream a show/movie to fall asleep to. Like I haven’t truly binged watched anything since The Handsmaid Tale.
tost1 Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Yes. Everything is so accessible that I don't get the thrill from it anymore 1
Raptus Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 (edited) Yes. For example - 2 shows that I love (Doom Patrol and Alice in borderland) had new seasons last year and I still haven't watched them Instead I will watch something that I know is bad/don't care for just because I don't want to force myself to focus while watching quality shows that I love It doesn't make seans but I feel like I don't have energy to watch good stuff and I end up streaming something with intention to drop it halfway It's different with music - I can strem it for hours every day. I even feel bad when I don't have time to finish an album Edited July 24, 2023 by Raptus 1
Totami Legend Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 I try to stay away from TV Shows, they feel like a waste of time. I collect my fav movies on blu ray, streaming services are annoying
Kern Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 I got bored of straming tv shows. I want 1 episode per week and have something to look forward too. Enough with the binge! 1
Johnny Jacobs Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 (edited) No More content + less money Edited July 24, 2023 by Johnny Jacobs
Anye Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 For movie and show, yes. But rarely for music. I love creating playlist.
duybeeGAshantiGA Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 I think this thread is exactly me. I have Spotify and Netflix but I actually stream very little. I open Netflix like once a week and get bored after like half an episode of anything. If sometimes that episode is good then I am done after 1 ep. No more than that. I dont know why I just get so easily bored and do not feel the need to watch anything. For music I only stream when Im driving (but I also still use and collect CDs to play on my car so..). At home I do not feel the need to listen to music like at all unless one of my faves releases sth new.
Virgos Groove Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 (edited) If anything, it overwhelms me. There's so much to watch and listen to, I feel like I'm always missing out. Edited July 24, 2023 by Virgos Groove

But sis, other than netflix the other streaming services still do the weekly drop: Hulu, Apple Tv, Max release 1 episode per week
