the melodies are strong

ive only listened to laurel hell and this in full so lemme dig deeper

I tried 4 of her top songs on Spotify and I couldn't get the melodies and composition, very much like Bjork's later output for me.
Gotta try the new album.

that love is like a star

it’s gone, we just see it shining

’cause it’s traveled very far

i’ll keep a leftover lighting burning

so you can keep looking up

i’m yours no matter

My baby here on earth

Showed me what my heart was worth

So when it comes to be my turn

Could you shine it down here for her

:'(

i can conclude that this is at the top tier with Puberty 2 and Be the Cowboy :WAP:

I went into this album with no expectations. I’ve liked everything she’s done but never really sat down with her music since BTC. This is INCREDIBLE

i absolutely adore the mix of this album and how she makes a point to say enough but not too much

i simply believe that she picked Bug Like An Angel as the lead because of the tracklist placement :deadbanana2: like every other track could be a better representation of the album than this :deadbanana2:

edit: i'm so shocked at how tiktok lengthy all of the tracks are while the buildup is still so captivating and cinematic :deadbanana2:

This is really good after all, Bug Like An Angel is low key the worst song :skull: a reverse Laurel Hell experience

apart from 1 or 2 really beautiful songs, the rest felt very mid. it felt very weyes blood at points, which i didn't really care for

critics seem to be loving it tho.

this was such a beautiful record. laurel hell was good but idk i didn't really feel attached to it

bug like an angel is kind of the worst song on the record but it grew on me, heaven and star were the better singles

mitski gets her 10s

Besides Bug, the singles (including the immaculate My Love) are the best songs here, imo. Still a stunner of an album though!

I think this is one of her best albums when it comes to instrumentals. They're all really full if that make sense? They sound polished, complete, finished, well thought out. Especially Buffalo Replaced and When Memories Snow, they sound like super grand. This is a gorgeous album, way better than Lauren Hell :clap3:
