OnlyManInTheWorld Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 This is so funny given that she sampled Cruel Summer on her debut record and now it’s outcharting her new single 3
Popular Post PoisonedIvy Posted July 23, 2023 Popular Post Posted July 23, 2023 No, Olivia is an artist still trying to establish a mainstream presence, longevity, and fanbase support. Taylor has all of those things solidified and working in her favor. Both of them are doing very well for themselves. 24
Taylena Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 We need a collab to end the feud rumors between this young mother and her daughter. 1
Marco_g2 Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Im kinda surprised yeah. Olivia should have released in Q1 with a song with this sound tbh.

Cruel Summer Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Cruel Summer is just an excellent pop song (if a Getaway Car ripoff of sorts) that resonates with people. It’s smashing hard. Can’t be surprised by that. But I suppose, in hindsight, I expected an Olivia lead single to do a bit better than what Vampire is doing - which probably isn’t actually fair, since we can’t expect everything she does to be a Driver’s License or Good 4 U. 2
Rv1709 Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Not sure if Olivias timing for this era is off! Olivias song and album will be eligible for 2024 grammys or 2025?
ALBAVEASP Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Still one of the best lead singles of this year. Cruel Summer is kinda overrated tho. 14
Billionaire Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Both songs have been going back and forth for a good while now but snag that hit thread I guess 1
Enrique523 Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Tbh i am, i didn't expect an old song to start outstreaming the brand new Olivia lead single post-SOUR after only 3 weeks. Especially as Cruel Summer already had 700M streams before it officially became a single So much for people saying Olivia was a bigger hitmaker than Taylor 3 1
Nashe Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Vampire just isn't a very GP-friendly song. It's far off from the Sour-singles. It's more of an introduction to the era.. a very good one at that!
spiritboy Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 One must be very insecure to compare an established artist like Taylor's single to a woman who is at the beginning of her career. Both women are doing great, it doesn't have to be a pissing contest. 1 5
TrieLz Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 Vampire be out from top 10 before she drop her album
Jjang Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 vampire is not doing as great as I thought an Olivia comeback single would do…

littlebodybigheart Posted July 23, 2023 Posted July 23, 2023 like some people already said, the song’s not performing as well as expected but it’s still doing well. and cruel summer is performing better than expected. in olivia’s defense, cruel summer is outstreaming a lot of songs that it shouldn’t be.
Sad Serenade Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 They're both doing great tbh. Taylor's Cruel Summer is just more impressive because it was just a track with no traction (no video or promo), just exploded thanks to stans. 1

blueberries Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Vampire already went #1 The same can't be said for any Lover single 1 3
mael Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Cruel Summ already has 800 million streams, yes? However let's wait until the era is over before we celebrate.
Mr. Duff Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 In this case, Cruel Summer is the better song, but Vampire's good too. Vampire is still holding well I think, it's just not a smash as we all expected, but it is still a hit and is still pulling great numbers. We can only wish our faves's singles will perform like Vampire. I hope there will be a week wen both can be in the top five at the same time. It's frustrating to see Cruel Summer get stuck from the #7-#10 region because some songs just get massive in an instant (Jason Aldean, the BTS song, now we have Travis/BB/The Weeknd). Out of all these Jason Aldean will probably be the only one to have longevity so I hope in two to three weeks Cruel Summer could climb into the top five. is Vampire's radio good?

halcyonday Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Vampire is an awful song. I'm not surprised it's freefalling.

I agree that it's awful but "freefalling" is a strong word. It's doing pretty well overall, it's just not the huge smash that people expected of her post-SOUR.
