Threads app users have halved in a week, according to report

According to data analytics company Similarweb, the number of daily active users on Threads dropped from 49 million to 23.6 million in just a week.

Threads' best day was July 7, just two days after launch, but the number of daily active users steadily declined from there. Total daily minutes of use — a different metric that looks at how much time users are spending with the app — has also fallen from 21 minutes on July 7 to just over 6 minutes on July 14, Similarweb claims.

ATRL, do you still use Threads?

I started to make one but everyone is saying it's dead and boring :deadbanana2:

It's a flop :dancehall3: Zuck tried to bring instagram's guidelines and that's too restrictive for a twitter replacement

It's still brand new and many people still have yet to actually join. Once more people start using it, ironically, people will then have a use for it. Or, it could simply just go the route of Vero and just flop. Vero is one I actually really loved, but no one I knew personally was on there. :chick3:

I made an account and used it for a total of 1h probably. It has potential but I don't see it fully replacing Twitter. It's like a PG-13, Facebook'd, locals'd version.

I don't like it at all

I visit maybe twice a day. I saw the latest update which helped with some of the issues I had with it, but not enough. I’m still gonna give it a try because I really want to leave Twitter.

If you could actually see what the people you follow were posting…

It’s not even close to finished, it’s clear they rushed it following the twitter outrages to get accounts created. I’m certain they knew this would happen but wanted to maximize potential users as more features get built out.

Yeah I deleted it off of my phone. It's useless without the core features that we need. I understand they wanted to stick it to elon when twitter had issues, but I feel like they should have waited until the app was complete. Who knows if people are going to want to return to the app once the new features are finally rolled out.

The staff say they are working on bringing the ability to search posts, have a feed to only see posts from people you are following, trending/hashtags, but it's taking forever. It should have been ready from the jump. No one wants to stay on that **** right now and see a bunch of influencers and brands post about how much they like to eat pizza. Boring as hell.

They really need to hurry up and implement the features they keep talking about.

The stuff I post on Twitter is drastically different from what I post on Instagram so this app being connected to your IG didn’t make sense for me

Posted

It was bound to flop

Having the same restrictions as Instagram is insane. Say what ya want but Twitter >

Posted

It‘s too vanilla

It could spike again if they add interesting features

Right now is just instagram people who don’t like to express anything in a text app

it’s the worst mix possible

They need to market to a different crowd

Twitter's competitor has to have NSFW. That's the only way someone will come out on top

My TL was filled boring influencers, it’s incentivized in brands/marketing. The social media interns developed the same personality and talk like an AI chatbot: “is this thing on?”. There was no way to avoid them and did not prioritize real people, friends and followers.

Yeah it was kinda bound to flop

Yea cause no one is gonna wild out on Threads like they do on Twitter lmao. Threads is linked to your IG PHUCK that.
