Hi-res Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Y’all—the point of this post isn’t to flex if you have AC or not Earth is reaching dangerous heat levels which makes it unbearable to do anything outside. Good for you if you live near the cooler areas but that still doesn’t change the fact that it’s getting hotter than usual throughout the globe. 3 1
Gwendolyn Posted July 17, 2023 Author Posted July 17, 2023 Most houses here were built to retain heat as it gets super cold in the winter here. Thanks to billionaires, our Summers are way more hotter than 10 years ago.

Its not even a joke, I noticed it this year, I needed my inhaler the second I walked outside
jqnetto Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 the silly discourse about moving to a different place and getting more ACs. there is just one Earth, you can try to run but it won’t work for long. 1
abelfenty Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Can they share some of the heat with Scotland? It’s 17 degrees here in the middle of July
DamianSolo Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 I was originally planning to be more active outdoors this summer since I recently switched careers and have much more normalcy in my life and thus free time, but for how incredibly hot it's been—I'm just going to way until autumn, deep in October. This heat has just been awful. And this is that Louisiana heat...

HEAVYONIT Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 We always get terrible heat waves in Spain in the summer unfortunately. This summer started off unusually cool but now it's really hot.

Komet Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 I mean I have AC but what kind of life is that? Sitting indoors under the AC 24/7 with the shutters closed? People still need to commute, run errands, socialize and, you know... live in general. Even the nights are awful nowadays with the high temp + high humidity combo; they used to provide a break from the heat even when the days got bad, not so much anymore 3
Big Bad Wolf Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Earth is starting to scorch. Stream “Heroin” by Lana Del Rey!

I'm working from home. So AC is staying on.

shinyshimmery Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 As a person who's lived in Texas my entire life... I'm used to the heat and humidity... but a/c is our savior, I don't think I could live without it at this point in my life. Being in hot living temperatures is awful... I experience it when I go to Mexico to visit... it's awful to try to go to sleep when it's so freaking hot and the ceiling fan is blowing hot air. Just really uncomfortable

I'm working from home. So AC is staying on. Your A/C unit is most definitely faulty. A/C is supposed to take out hot air/humidity from your living space, that's why it has an exhaust pipe. If it's failing to do that, you will have mold issues... that's probably why your sinusitis. If anything, you should get a dehumidifier and use along with your a/c... alternatively, it could also be bc there's not enough humidity in your living space... in which case you'll need a humidifier. I believe the standard humidity levels should be 30%-50% Edited July 17, 2023 by shinyshimmery

I mostly just need it to sleep anyway. As long as it's cold at night, im good. That's the way of life for most people tbh, even here in the US... we still need to be outside sometimes. I went to the Houston Zoo this past Saturday and it was hot af... it's just the reality of life/nature.
