Archetype Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Grace talking out of her *** as usual and spreading rumors based on what a ghost told her in her sleep.
favorite crime Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 switch on your brains for 5 sec, there's no world where this would happen
Mr. Mendes Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 2 hours ago, Zoomer said: I knew their recent movies have been underperforming for a while now, but damn is it THAT bad? No. Begging people to realize this rumor is fake and is only resurfacing as an anti strike measure.
popmusicisdead Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Disney movies gonna get released with audio sold separately
Specter Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 We need to stop this rumor in its tracks, it is literally anti-strike nonsense
ATRL Moderator Azulito Posted September 6, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted September 6, 2023 Not happening
magazine Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Good luck with that But hey, Apple gets away with so many anti-trust stuff that other companies don't, you never know 1 1
byzantium Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 (edited) What is the point of antitrust laws if stuff like this is allowed to happen. I hope the EU blocks this because the US is a lost cause. Edited September 6, 2023 by byzantium 4
Johnny Jacobs Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 There is no way they will sell. Can apple even afford them?
Aston Martin Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Regardless of whether or not this is true, our society continues to descend deeper into a corporate autocracy and I'm so ******* tired
DeepEnd Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Selling ALL of Disney sounds insane . So apple is gonna own all the merchandising, games, and even theme parks??
DeepEnd Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 5 minutes ago, Johnny Jacobs said: There is no way they will sell. Can apple even afford them? Apple is worth like 10x Disney . They're valued at nearly 3trillion, while Disney is 300b.

poki Posted September 6, 2023 Posted September 6, 2023 Disney CEO B*b extended his contract for 2 more years. Holy **** he's probably seriously about to sell Disney and that's why he didn't get a new CEO to replace him; he wants to secure a deal with Apple
KingWitch Posted September 7, 2023 Posted September 7, 2023 Ow i just looked at the market caps and this could totally happen, Apple is worth 2,78 trillion and Disney is worth only 147 billion. It's not out of the realm of possibility
Arcadius Posted September 8, 2023 Posted September 8, 2023 If this were to actually happen and be approved then every other studio in Hollywood would as well follow suit and try their best to be merged because how can you compete with both Apple and Disney? Hopefully, regulators say NO.

What’s another little monopolization to them? That's because both 20th Century-Fox and MGM were/are complete flops in financial ruin and they NEEDED massive cash infusions if they wanted to stay in business. The government only bails out banks and car companies, not entertainment production studios. The only way to do this is sell to a larger company with a healthy cash flow. Disney is very profitable right now, but I think Iger is looking very long term and perhaps this is a sign that streaming may only be profitable if it is subsidized by other massively profitable business lines. This is only really possible if you do much more than entertainment and news, and Disney doesn't have that. Idk, I could be very wrong, but this is where it seems the entertainment industry is heading. Do I want tech to own these studios? NO, but it seems like they can't think of other ways to survive long term. 13 minutes ago, Arcadius said: If this were to actually happen and be approved then every other studio in Hollywood would as well follow suit and try their best to be merged because how can you compete with both Apple and Disney? Hopefully, regulators say NO. A24 and NEON are examples of smaller studios at or nearing a peak with balancing mass appeal and critical acclaim. Not sure if their businesses are profitable, but it seems like they've been at it for a while. Edited September 8, 2023 by Archetype
