HOW does Blank Space trail SIO so much, that is a whole “Style” sized lead :rip:

I KNEW IT! HA I've been saying for years YBWM is a monster compared to LS the girlies in the base just DONT believe me!

The power of pining teenage girls and gays should never be underestimated!

For SIO vs BS, I think its important to remember the power of your average white household. Dad, mom and their gay son and thot daughter can all bop to it! Miss Blank Space is more for the cultured girlies I fear!

It may miss some logged out Youtube streams if it's Luminate/Nielsen formula like he usually goes by but that's about it.

This includes YouTube right?

No wonder those chart accounts always have SIO like 4M units above BS in their certification estimates:bibliahh:

Nah Blank Space alone has 3.2B on Youtube and 1.3B on Spotify, so it couldn't. It's only on-demand streams

Those are global streams though

Love Story is low compared to YBWM

The YBWM MV has 500 M more of views and in Spotify both are being destroyed by the Taylor’s version

Most Taylor songs have 40% - 50% streams from the US, if Youtube was included BS should have at least 2 B streams in the US, so I guess it doesn't

no, Taylor is global :rip:

Love Story being so far down the list and below YBWM probably has a lot to do with the fact that it’s sold more digital copies than YBWM, plus all the people who own the Fearless album playing that rather than streaming anything means those people wouldn’t show up here if they’re playing Love Story more. It’s still comfortably her signature country hit in the US.

Surprised at how far ahead Shake It Off is because it’s really not good enough for that,  but also not too surprised because it’s been obvious for a long while now how monumentally huge that song is.

He has Shake It Off at 13.5M Nielsen Units so either a very large percentage of the streams were from Youtube or he messed up typing the stream count

Love Story is absolutely not her signature hit in the US. You belong with me alone is bigger and more iconic.

I second this.  I was actually shocked to hear originally that some people online thought Love Story was bigger.  I think something that people forget about the digital era is that when an albums sold really well, later singles would sell less because people already owned the song through the album.

When love story was released, no one bought the album yet. However by the time YBWM was released, 4 million Americans already owned the song through the album.   (A similar reason is why Wildest dreams is one of her most popular tracks on Spotify but struggled to even go top 5)

It’s so hard to decide between these two because some years Love Story seems like the bigger classic and other years YBWM feels that way :rip:

YBWM feels bigger cause it had become College Football mandatory song in USA. And College Football is massive in US

I often see the bands playing the song

So Cruel Summer already has 450m in USA

That's honestly phenomenal :jonnycat:

Blank Space has less than 25% streams coming from USA

Check the stats

Same for Cruel Summer rn

Blank Space was charting on Global Spotify for long time and it was not charting on US Spotify

Well, I did specify signature country hit, but I still think Love Story still has a stronger claim to that title than YBWM since it’s ahead in overall consumption/units in the US despite the latter being more streamed overall. Love Story TV is also charting on US Spotify right now while YBWM TV isn’t, so it’s at least marginally ahead in current streams.

It’s honestly surprising to me that anyone thinks YBWM was bigger, if we’re being honest. It just doesn’t feel right.
