Does UGC count for RIAA certification?

Quote

Only official label/company videos count towards certification, User Generated Videos do not. Certification count begins at the track's release date.

Flowers at #1 on every metric, but some users here had the nerve to say it's success is radio-fueled. :bibliahh:

No, only official videos from the artist page

Oh, so Bloody Mary isn't eligible for 4x plat, like that user initially said.

This is counting YT reels as video streams which makes it such a joke. They don't count for certifcations nor Billboard. :deadbanana4: Last year's video top 10 had tons of unknown songs too due to this.

I find it messed up how UGC streams don’t count towards RIAA certifications, but all these mass bought K-Pop singles and albums count. Only one lifetime single/album sale per consumer should be counted.

"Bloody Mary" would have at least potentially been a top 10 or top 20 hit with the UGC streams included. What also hurt it was the sped up version not being officially released to Spotify or Apple Music.

Auto play is ATRL’s newest favorite excuse for a song doing well. :toofunny3:

OT: Flowers and Calm Down. :clap3:And even though I go back and forth on Gaga, Bloody Mary is one of her best songs, so it’s cool to see it there. :clap3:

I’m sure auto play helps all hits a little, but certainly not enough to be the big reason Flowers has done the numbers it has. It’s just a monster hit that cannibalized the album, unfortunately. It happens.

Calm Down :clap3:

Gaga having a bigger global smash than all her peers without needing to release a music video, having 1 year of non stop residency on TTH or releasing desperately speed up versions.
