pride4jc1222 Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 Not a surprise given last week's charts, but Last Night is set to finally take the #1 spot on the Canadian Hot 100 chart:

pride4jc1222 Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 Final predictions (lol, this is absolutely dreadful):

ATRL Moderator Element Posted July 15, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted July 15, 2023 The Hot 100 is pretty dire this year. I feel like only a few songs are able to become big/memorable hits. Music consumption is so wide ranging now that everything has a weak chart point value... wow.
besaid Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 The US needs to implement the UK rule for album bombs. There's no reason entire albums should be debuting on the hot 100.

It's actually great people get to listen to whatever they want and have the power to make songs chart. Radio has always and will always be the problem.

I’m saying that songs are less likely now to be omnipresent/universal smash hits that everyone knows. Listening is spreading out more due to access and exploration, which is cool! But you aren’t going to have songs on the chart that everyone knows. You can clearly see that trend through the lower chart points all around. It used to be heavier at the top.
TrieLz Posted July 16, 2023 Posted July 16, 2023 Without Taylor Album bombs, Super Shy could debut in the Top 50 already bigger hit than OMG, NewJeans the new BlackPink
