mystery Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 Dance The Night would be rising again if not for the Speak Now bomb. Wonder how the movie will help the Barbie songs.
pride4jc1222 Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 I think Last Night's reign at #1 on the Hot 100 will end at 17 or 18 weeks. fukumean is really coming, as it has passed LN on US Spotify. It depends on how fast it gains on Rhythmic and Urban (the adds are already there), but fukumean is eventually going to reach #1 on the Hot 100.

Drake & Travis are coming in the next weeks Unless Drake's album has a viral hit like In My Feelings, I don't see it getting more than one week at #1 on the Hot 100. Remember, Last Night has already blocked the lead single (Search & Rescue) from hitting #1. And this is not even accounting for the fact that Drake hasn't announced the date his album is going to drop. He could drop the album tomorrow, or he could drop it in October (when Last Night is no longer #1 on the Hot 100). You never know with Drake anymore. As for Travis Scott, he may get a #1 on the BB 200, but there's no chance he beats out an established hit like LN on the Hot 100. The only #1 he got without the help of website sales (which no longer count on the Hot 100) is Sicko Mode. HitR and Franchise got to #1 because of website sales gimmicks, and that's before his image took a hit with the Astroworld fiasco.
simplywohoo Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 i‘m kinda shook that olivia is supposed to drop by 35 % in week 2 and even moreso nobody mentioned it

pride4jc1222 Posted July 13, 2023 Posted July 13, 2023 On why Fast Car is unlikely to reach #1 on the Hot 100: Fast Car might peak on radio before Last Night. FC is on max spins at country at the moment, so it's going to start dropping on that format soon. Also, its ascent on Pop is being aided by the fact that it's the cover of a song that has more pop roots. On the other hand, while Last Night has already topped country, it is still on a very slow and steady climb at Pop radio, which negates any losses on country radio, thus allowing it to remain pretty much constant on overall radio. If FC ever gets ahead of LN on radio, it will be by a small gap, which amounts to very few Hot 100 points. FC has a lot of work to do to close the streaming gap to even get it into position to challenge for the #1 on the Hot 100.

FC is definetely not going to drop like a rock on the Country format like some payola'd song, it is an effortlessly smash, which was also pushed to Country radio due to the huge demand, even with his country single being "Love You Anyway". The title is also fresh for Country standars, there's a lot of life left for the upcoming weeks. One positive thing about FC is that it is probably going to perform better on HAC, and for sure on AC. Dubious on Pop, since I hardly see them supporting two Country songs big time at the same time. Nevertheless, I lowkey agree with you when you say it's probably not going to top the Hot 100, unless big stremaing increases come.

fridayteenage Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 given what happened earlier this year, the new bts song would be a lock for a #1 debut if not for the rule change. it'll be interesting to see where it debuts without webstore boost.

Seven has physical CDs sales & 2 version on iTunes (clean ver & explicit ver) + the instrumental version (if we count that too so there’s 3 versions) Take Two sold around 29k sales with only 1 version and no physical (but with webstore boost), so I think Seven will double that numbers. Maybe around 60k sales and with the additional from Youtube streams (Take Two doesn’t have MVs) that’s enough for a Top 10 debut on hot 100 (also depend on the spotify numbers, it could challenge #1 if the spotify numbers are good.
LastKiss Posted July 14, 2023 Posted July 14, 2023 If Taylor manages to have 3 songs from different albums each in the top 10
