I actually think they mean vinyl only, there's literally no way they have reliable streaming data yet, or at least anything complete enough for a statistically sound prediction - plus they specify the vinyl "drop," "move the needle" is referring to it challenging Midnights which holds the current vinyl record, and they end it with a vinyl pun

Y’all there’s absolutely no way that it’s 500-600k vinyls. Taylor has reached another peak in the US, but the demand for vinyls is not that high 

 

anyway, I’m a bit disappointed that this isn’t going to reach Red TV numbers. Hopefully it’ll rise to 700k
