HandsInTheAir Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 US: #4(+61) - 1,229,049 streams **new peak Global: #62 (re-entry) - 1,759,387 streams one thing about Mrs. Cyrus... she has the CLASSICS!
kataraqueen Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 I just know I need to leave the party the moment this song comes on fun song tho 1
OnlyManInTheWorld Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 I'm glad this song turned out to be such a classic. It used to be my personal mega smash back then
pride4jc1222 Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 lol, this officially marks the death of the music industry in the United States. No reason why a 14-year-old song should be in the Top 5 of Spotify (pushing one of the hottest viral songs in Cruel Summer down a spot), with nearly 70% of the streams being in the US, in a week when Lil Uzi Vert has one of the biggest album debuts in streaming this year.

It’s never that serious 1
justinxx Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 pretty wild that a random, non-committal effort from Miley became the definitive July 4th anthem … above Bruce Springsteen and Katy Perry. goes to show that you can’t really plan this stuff.
Scars Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 Although it always reaches new highs on 4th of July, let's remember that Party in the USA charts every single day on Spotify charts. It's not just a seasonal hit, it's literally a staple on anglo culture. ATRL loves to call any big hit a classic to the point the word has lost it's real meaning, so it's always good to see what a actual modern classic looks like. Oh Miley, they aren't doing it like you. 2
satellites.™ Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 AGAIN, proving my point that MIley Cyrus, regardless of how u all feel, is one of the girls who has managed to get MULTIPLE actual classic songs. It's like Girls Just Wanna Have Fun or I Will Survive. 3
MingYouToo Posted July 5, 2023 Posted July 5, 2023 What I love about Miley is that she may be inconsistent and goes from MPG to complete flop and back to being the biggest name in music again, she ABSOLUTELY has classics. Like PITUSA, The Climb, Wrecking Ball, soon to be Flowers, NONE of the MPGs are seeing this level of iconic hits I fear! 4

The thing is that Miley's chart inconsistency is mostly her own fault, her career is full of misteps and wrong business decisions. When you think about the fact she was able to still find great commercial success after the PR nightmare that was Dead Petz and Younger Now back to back, it really shows how strong her presence on pop culture is and that the potential for more is clearly there. Most pop girls became a relic of the past for much less. 1

I can get Top 25, maybe Top 20, but Top 5 over all the Lil Uzi Vert tracks and Cruel Summer with a chance to re-enter the Hot 100 is overkill. Do we really need Party in the USA re-entering the Hot 100? What would make me happy is a chart with faster turnover. Edited July 5, 2023 by pride4jc1222

The dramatics lmaoooo it was a holiday, so yes, a patriotic classic is high in the Spotify charts because the majority of the American population was streaming it yesterday. It’s just a real-time measurement of music consumption. It’ll free fall today, you’ll be fine.
