No it’s not. There was already a Mario movie in the 90s and even an animated tv series.

Artist Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Please - it has nothing to do with franchise this or that, people would obviously tune in for quality. Most of these films I didn't even know were out so I can only assume it's the same for the general public. It's not films that are primarily failing, it's marketing for these films.
UnusualBoy Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 it's beyond me why and how they decide to spend more than $100 million on a IJ movies leave alone close to $300 million, the idiot who took that decision needs to be fired. 1
EnigmaticAndroid Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 This Summer has been such a bloodbath Hopefully studios start to rethink their strategies for the better. 1
Broken Posted June 30, 2023 Author Posted June 30, 2023 The Flash 2.0. YIKES! Mangold should NOT direct the next Star Wars movie and Muschietti should NOT direct the DCU Batman movie...

Between the Star Wars franchise and now this, she’s run Lucasfilm to the ground. 2
D_Man3379 Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Yep, I fear this might be it for Kathleen Kennedy.
Gorjesspazze9 Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Hollywood should stop spending $200M for a Blockbuster

wantedyoutogrow Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 not every franchise can have a successful legacy sequel, thankfully Scream doesn't have that problem 2

ATRL Moderator Samson Posted July 1, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted July 1, 2023 I think the issue is less about the films themselves and more about the budgets these movies are getting A $200mil budget for some of these films is insane
Harrier Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 there are audiences for these films, they just need to get the budgets under control. 300m for Indiana jones is ludicrous 1
lavenderblo Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 In no world did I expect an Indiana movie to ever fail. But I also did not expect The Flash to underperform as hard as it did too with all of the positive reviews/tracking. Nothing is safe anymore I fear.

Horizon Flame Posted July 1, 2023 Posted July 1, 2023 Hollywood should concentrate on television. Make limited series. Keep budgets reasonable.
