bcoz unlike tlm, indiana, transformer or fast. people know what to expect on those stories while mario despite being not your taste is technically a fresh idea.

No it’s not. There was already a Mario movie in the 90s and even an animated tv series.

I’m going to gag if this does worse than The Flash.

:deadbanana4:

The budget for Indiana Jones is $300 million. It won’t make a dime. Disney is sinking.

Please - it has nothing to do with franchise this or that, people would obviously tune in for quality. Most of these films I didn't even know were out so I can only assume it's the same for the general public. It's not films that are primarily failing, it's marketing for these films.

it's beyond me why and how they decide to spend more than $100 million on a IJ movies leave alone close to $300 million, the idiot who took that decision needs to be fired.

This Summer has been such a bloodbath :deadbanana:

Hopefully studios start to rethink their strategies for the better.

The Flash 2.0. YIKES!

Mangold should NOT direct the next Star Wars movie and Muschietti should NOT direct the DCU Batman movie...

Not this and The Flash having a flop off.

They need to get rid off Kathleen Kennedy already. Between the Star Wars franchise and now this, she’s run Lucasfilm to the ground.

Yep, I fear this might be it for Kathleen Kennedy.

Hollywood should stop spending $200M for a Blockbuster:deadbanana4:

not every franchise can have a successful legacy sequel, thankfully Scream doesn't have that problem :eddie:

I think the issue is less about the films themselves and more about the budgets these movies are getting :deadbanana2: A $200mil budget for some of these films is insane

Posted

there are audiences for these films, they just need to get the budgets under control. 300m for Indiana jones is ludicrous

In no world did I expect an Indiana movie to ever fail. :clown:

But I also did not expect The Flash to underperform as hard as it did too with all of the positive reviews/tracking.

Nothing is safe anymore I fear.

Hollywood should concentrate on television. Make limited series. Keep budgets reasonable.

Indiana Jones even flopping will have a bigger box office than Scream 6
