A blended family is a family consisting of (usually) a step-parent, step-children and sometimes half-siblings for those unfamiliar with the term.

They work sometimes. It's heavily dependent on the people involved, and they're more likely to work if the parent and step-parent don't try to force it.

Blended families definitely have way more obstacles inherently than non-blended families though.

Exactly. Sorry but this question sounds mad disrespectful. They are subjected to dysfunctions just like any other “type” of family.

Define way more please… the only new obstacle is adaptation to new family members. All of the other issues are present in non-blended families…

Yes, I do think they generally work. In certain circumstances, though, it's never the same once someone says, "I don't even know why I'm talking to you, you're not even my real ________."
