So it was a no brainer for me to go into design, film and art direction etc. I'm so glad you found yours in your teens like I did! Thats how I got my scholarship! Same! And same to you 1

It isn’t a religious book and has huge parallels to modern life. It’s quite fascinating how relevant it is. I’m also an atheist

Artists are the same, aint nobody paying them **** until they get good enough that people want what they have to offer. I am passionate about many things, but I know damn well I cant sing like Mariah. But I absolutely LOVE music, and DJ/dance/produce for fun (with hopes to do DJ'ing professionally). I think it’s redundant to believe most people have ONE career. You can be multitalented and do things for fun and/or profesionally. Some of our favs are MULTI talented and have gone into different arenas, we can do the same thing. Completely agree with your last statement there!

AMIT Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 (edited) @JayG I mean what I'm gonna say next in the nicest way possible, because I do believe your posts come from a good place, but you are legit sounding like a ''life coach'' toxic positive annoying tone deaf person. Please stop acting like in the society we live right now most people have the choice to ''follow their dreams'', try out a million different things so they can find what they like/are good at (and even if they do, can afford to follow it) and that everyone can (or even WANT TO) successfully turn their passion into a profitable skill. You need to check your priviledge, you are putting way too much responsibility in the individuals while completely glancing over the material reality of most people that keep them from doing things you think they have no reason NOT to be doing (I guess laziness? how many times are we gonna have a repeat of this kinda of **** honestly). ''You don't have to do it for money'' are we living in the same world? Do you think it is Jeff Bezos' life mission to be an union buster, extremely exploitative capitalist? Do you think think someone like him is ''succeeding'' while poor people stay poor because of their own failures as people? Let's come back down to earth and slow down on this ''hustle culture'' peddling tirade you are on in this thread. A person in rural India isn't gonna have dreams to be a designer, lets be real here. Their dreams could be getting the **** out of poverty, getting married, having children etc. My point is - everyone has some kind of dream. One persons dream is safety/family/a family, a business etc. Another persons dream is to be a vet/a doctor/a whatever. And another persons dream is to be a producer/singer/creative etc. Its all valid. I disagree. The society we live in now, if you aren't in literal poverty or rural areas of the world, gives us more flex and freedom to try out things. I literally quit corporate, went part time in a regular job, and switched my degree to doing something I actually was passionate about and enjoyed: go figure, I get multiple scholarships as a result. It is possible and its called making sacrifices. If you want something bad enough, you will do anything, no matter who you are or where you are from - this is why violence exists where there is scarcity, and its exactly why competition exists in the West. Everyone be competing over jobs, positions, and companies compete over market share. Its the same concept in different circumstances. The only difference we have not being in a third world situation is we can carve our own lanes if we have something unique to offer. And every person DOES have something unique to offer. I dont believe in the "laziness" argument. People, whether poor, rich, in between, often do **** out of having no choice or because they so badly want to do it. I'm not privileged. Sorry. I didnt choose my early life circumstances and I worked damn motherfucking hard to get to where I got to. Period. Its hard work for EVERYONE. And responsibility is on both the individual and the collective. I didnt get "successful" alone, I had to work hard to get money to fund my passions/talents. Also I never said people have NO reason not to be doing what they love, I said its dumb if we dont. And what people love is entirely subjective. One person may love taking care of their kids, another may love money, another may love travel, another may love being a housewife. Its not always about money. My field of work does require a ton of money, so I gotta work hard for it. And no, you dont have to dance for MONEY. You dont have to DJ for money. You dont have to make art for money. You dont have to cook for money. Not everything you love has to be ******* monetised. Thats my point. And not once have I used the world hustle lmao. Please show me where I did. I don't believe in hustle culture either. I don't. I never got successful hustling, I got successful working hard at what I was good at. And it didnt happen overnight, it didnt happen working 18 hours a day and taking cold showers watching Andrew Tate videos or looking up to Jeff Bezos. Seriously. It was 15+ years in the making and I am grateful my talent is in a field that is highly paid. Not everyone can do what I do. I'm aware my own grandparents even (who are not rich) could never do design, creative/art direction or any kind of tech/creative work. And they will never be rich. They had their own businesses doing things they were really good at until they had to move countries and work regular jobs. 1

leyaris11 Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 I think it's depend on a different stage of your life. When you was young in your 20's you're eager for money, promotion, new jobs... In your 30's you want to buy a house, getting marry and settling down with kids. in your 40's when money is not important to you anymore then you're craving for healthy life and inner peace.

AvadaKedavra Posted June 22, 2023 Posted June 22, 2023 (edited) For me : To be happy. To have fun. Enjoy life. To Love. To not live a fake life. To be Free and Be Authentically me instead of doin what everyone else is doing. To help others. To Evolve. To explore new things and worlds. To help this planet turn into a better place. To shine more and more like a star. To not turn into a psychotic bitter human like vladimir putin-trump . To not corrupt myself to the core. To have kids. I been through really bad experiences but the good outweight the bad by a lot they gave me lemons and i did lemonade. With better health-better financial situation and more freedom my life would pass from 85 to 100% but its ok. Edited June 22, 2023 by AvadaKedavra
