It’s the trendy place for remote workers from 1st world countries, there’s been a lot of articles in major newspapers praising the country. But then people get disappointed when they arrive there, the comments here are a kii: https://nomadlist.com/reviews/lisbon Remote workers who work from abroad should be banned and reported for tax evasion anyway 1

They've been overtaken by (closeted) Arabs and Turks and they're anti lgbtq+ as feck. Muslims/religion really have ruined most of the big cities here. As someone who’s lived (together with my then bf) multiple years in the most Islamic neighbourhood of Amsterdam, I’ve never been bothered by anyone The only homophobic things I’ve heard have been in the city centre Contrary to what the media would like you to believe, Muslim migrants do not hold enough power here to dictate things

As NYC is ranked as #1, and the NYC metro area has the largest Muslim population in the Western Hemisphere along with a larger foreign born population, one of the few pluralistic populations as there isn't a racial majority. With all that said, NYC with its large Muslim and Middle Eastern population it wouldn't even be ranked. Pretty sure London is #2 with 1.3 million Muslims too. The people voting far right parties in all these European countries aren't Muslims... Between this and posts from Europeans asking how Latam cities can rank above their precious European town, it's serving:

Maleficent Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 Auckland is probably safer than a lot of other cities, but I still wouldn't expect to walk around most areas holding hands and not get called a f*got at least three times.

Scars Posted June 20, 2023 Posted June 20, 2023 The pink girls upset because cities from the Global South were included. São Paulo and it's world's largest pride parade rightfully included.

mylicious Posted June 21, 2023 Posted June 21, 2023 (edited) 7. Vienna must be a joke, wishful thinking There needs to be more work done than you would think. We had our pride last weekend and people are turning on us here too, this country is divided. The comments under news articles are horrible. The right wing has the most votes in this country right before election next year and their leader puts out a lot of anti lgbtq propaganda. There was also a protest against drag queens. If you live in the villages people still look strange at you. Yes Vienna is safe but not all of it, we have 23 districts and some of them are not gay friendly at all. There was a planned terror attack for our pride which was thankfully stopped. A woman was beaten down by five guys for being queer in the streets after pride. Yes we are safe in the inner districts for tourists but yea. They reported we get our first queer center for teenagers yesterday and there is an outrage, it’s so stupid. - And yes, the mentality of a lot of immigrants are an issue too in this city, that’s the reality. We have the right wing people and people who don’t support the western lifestyle against us. Edited June 21, 2023 by mylicious
