Into The Void Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 I loved EDM in pop music. Those electro beats and drops it was my favorite music era. Should it make a comeback? 2
Big Bad Wolf Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 (edited) No, leave it in 2016. Edited June 17, 2023 by Big Bad Wolf
Illuminati Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Maybe in 20 years when it gains an aesthetic sorta feeling. It's garb

Cheers Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 I'm okay with more EDM hits happening. I just don't want a complete takeover of it because the pop artists get so generic and awful with cheap EDM. 1
Sylpher Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 (edited) Miley already did it with River. Edited June 17, 2023 by Sylpher
thetea Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 yes but not in the way we heard it in 2014 - 2017. give us 2009 - 2012 electropop. 1 minute ago, vinster13 said: Just listen to hyperpop i don't think that the gp would connect with hyperpop yet. a lot of it is still pots and pans.
Sanctuary Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Just give it time, EDM can trace its way back as far as Disco in the 70s. Electronic music is the cockroach of Pop. 1 1
Johnny Jacobs Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 No Trans music should like Cascada and basshunter
Lemon Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 EDM is Probably the worst subset of dance music. However, 90s’ house is what is needed.

teresaguidice Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 i hope the nostagia'd resurgence of that sound is still far far off, perhaps the worst era of modern pop
DamianSolo Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 As I sit and listen to 18 Months, absolutely. Electronic dance music is my favorite style of music, with trance being my favorite genre. I love a lot of the pop music that was coming out in the early 2010s. If it did come back, though, I'd want it to be more influenced by jungle; there's wasn't too much of that when EDM originally made its resurgence in the mainstream.
drivers license Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 no, just thinking about it being a nostalgic factor in a few years from now…
Mordecai Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Yes please!! Electronic and dance music has always been my fav. But moreso in the vain of early 2010s a la David Guetta, Avicii etc. instead of the boring samey drops of the mid 2010s plagued by the Chainsmokers
Gesamtkunstwerk Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 I feel like people online are already nostalgic for 2007-2013 electro pop era, so it might come back.
Contessa Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 We already have a multi-week number 1 of the year being an edm pop smash
loveisdead9582 Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 I’d rather dance/pop have more of a comeback.
Pop Life Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 Dance music is always welcome, but the cheap, copy-pasted drops of 2011-2015 were not it 1
Grown K Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 God no. Those were dark years. All those songs about putting your hands up the club
Dula Peep Posted June 18, 2023 Posted June 18, 2023 Yes, early 2010s was magical and FUN. People were having FUN.
