you just realize you won the lotto 1.234.567$... but you lost the ticket, what would you do? How would you work through that?

I don't think there's anything you can do without the ticket. The lotto has a bunch of checks to make sure your big winning ticket is legit so without one you're screwed. 

 

I would do my best to try to find, retrace my steps. If I can't find it I'll give up and be sad, but I think I could get over it eventually.

! I'll take it as a sign that I wasn't financially responsibly ready for that amount of money. There is no way to recover it though without the card, that's true.

I'd definitely kms. I just lost a pendrive with some sensitive information and am already on the edge of just leaping off a building, so losing a life-changing amount of money is a fast way to go for me.

Anything that's "lost," for me, is either in my glove compartment, walk-in closet or in any three of my drawers in my dresser. I'm tearing it all up until I find it.
