The problem has layers. While corporate pride isn't great, it showed that being openly pro-gay was better business than being neutral or against it, but now with how aggressive homophobes are getting it is causing situations like this which is sending hate groups the message that violence and pressure works which will embolden them. Trust that it won't stop with big retailers. Don't like that your local library has a rainbow flag? Stand outside with your guns and scream about groomers. Don't like that your school has a gay teacher? Just get a facebook group together of local "concerned" parents and harass school admin with claims they hired a ped0. 1
Into The Void Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 I mean I get why it just is a shame things are regressing
commander Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Apparently this is fake news https://www.thedailybeast.com/starbucks-tells-baristas-to-remove-pride-flags-from-stores Quote a Starbucks spokesperson told The Daily Beast, “There has been no change to any policy on this matter and we continue to encourage our store leaders to celebrate with their communities including for U.S. Pride month in June.” 1

bad guy Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Every Starbucks still has a pride flag up so not sure this matters much

The main criticism is how big corporation like Target and Starbucks never truly care about LGBTQ+ people in the first place even before the rise of harassment from crazy right wingers this year. They only "celebrate" it because they can capatalize it for their brand for a month and stop doing it after Pride month is over Don't be dense
Alfred Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 *acts shocked* Corps do not give a f*ck about social causes or what’s “good.” All they care about is money. Period.
Robert Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 (edited) Their coffee is trash anyway. Take your money to local independent businesses. Edited June 13, 2023 by Robert
DamianSolo Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 I happily went to CC's Coffee House today; that's mainly because I didn't feel like driving a couple of exits down to get to the Starbucks, though.
Jotham Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Imagine caving in to the crowd that tried to cancel you a couple years ago for using red cups
KBax Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 Starbucks is **** anyways, **** company serving **** drinks. I can make a better drink at home

arceus Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 People who think they drink coffee at Starbucks need to have their taste bud checked tbh

I'm tired of this whole gays obsessed with Starbucks thing - they're a horrible corporation. Seriously look no further: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Criticism_of_Starbucks Small business is where it's at boo. I stopped supporting mine because they got even more expensive than Starbucks. So I just make my own coffee. I always try to support local businesses, but they unfortunately get more expensive than the large companies for obvious reasons.
RunUpDoneUp Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 My concern is the anti union stink of Starbucks period. Not supporting the lgbt comes natural to antihuman business practices.
Kamil24 Posted June 17, 2023 Posted June 17, 2023 how does Starbucks still exist? Who even spends that much money on a cup of coffee?
