Leppie Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 The attack that was filmed last year in Sydney Australia was much more gruesome tbh

izzyinsane Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 That video was traumatizing. RIP to that poor man.

spiritboy Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 (edited) That shark probably attacked or eaten a human before, the way it attacks is predatory and he knows he is prey. Usually shark get a curiosity bite and leave it at that because they don’t like human meat. I hear there are two reasons for increased shark attacks in Red Sea. 1) overfishing which means food is scarce and they have to eart. 2) and i think most dangerous reason is shark baiting. Sharks can be conditioned into believing humans/boats mean food and when they don’t find food, they become more aggressive. I hope they’ll ban it soon because news like this can turn into a witch hunt which could end up with people overhunting sharks. They are amazing creatures and have been in the oceans for hundreds of millions of years. It’s summer in northern hemisphere and human-shark interactions will increase. Hope everyone will be more careful. I also saw very stupid and disturbing tweets, like people celebrating this boy’s death because he is Russian. Some people will always be trash and disgusting i guess. Edited June 9, 2023 by spiritboy
Wrecked Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 (edited) The amount of bots on Twitter saying “it’s staged bro!” - social media has made us so ******* dumb. I absolutely love sharks, but I’d never swim in the ocean in Egypt when it’s known that they have tiger sharks there. RIP to this man though, what a horrible way to go. Edited June 9, 2023 by Wrecked
mercurialworld Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 not watching but why was this recorded in the first place and how did it end up on the internet? rest in peace
FailSafe Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 I am NOT going to watch that. No, ma'am. May he RIP.

I understand what you are saying but I can’t emphasize enough how dangerous cars actually are. Driving for 30 minutes is still more dangerous than swimming in the ocean for 30 minutes.

But let's not forget animals in the wild are just living and surviving... It's important to mention that we, as a society, kill approximately 100 million sharks per year. We are terrified of sharks but there are less than 10 fatal cases annually. Perhaps it's time we start reconsidering who the real villain of the story is considering we kill 200 million animals per day and don't even think about this. I know this might bother or sting most of you. Perhaps you might even consider it's not appropriate or it's too soon... But I think we need to reflect on/meditate/go deeper when tragic events happen, to have a deeper understanding of our world and its balance. Reading this while eating 🥓
HANZ94 Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 The truly was the most graphic shark attack video I’ve seen in my life you can clearly tell what was going on holy ****

Think of the father watching this happen/his family, the corpse is very much likely still in the body and it deserved to be retrieved for a proper (closet casket) burial. I’m simply state the fact that this myth that sharks develop a taste for human blood and seek to prey on humans is baseless. It’s also dangerous. The practice of shark culling where people seek to kill sharks en masse following an attack is extremely harmful to ecological systems. This is when people try to kill “the shark” responsible for killing a person, so they kill hundreds of sharks until they find one with human remains in its stomach. Your baseless rhetoric is commonly used to justify such barbaric practices. Like, sure, whatever if you can kill the shark responsible in the moment. But that’s so unrealistic and not what generally happens that making revenge the standard on a wild animal isn’t really worth it. 2
truthteller Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 "oh my god" proceed to film it calmly like it doesnt affect them
Ego. Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 How are videos like this allowed in Twitter?? This does nothing but overdramatize shark attacks and is also pretty disrespectful to the person who died.
harwee Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 That's terrible From the sharks and animals perspective, we're just everywhere.
suburbannature Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 How braindead do you have to be to mindlessly film someone dying like this
Aethereal Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 I was told sharks don't feed on humans? Like what happened? After the first attack/bite they retreat because our meat is not an appropriate consumption for them. Still you would end up with huge wound and possibly a missing limb. And I did not click on the video. I kinda wish ATRL stopped with those violent killing threads but at the same time it's better for me to be aware.

You, for trivializing this man’s gruesome death. Insinuating he’s the “real villain” here? Do you deserve to die because of what other humans do? Edited June 9, 2023 by -brian
