Europe Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 With so much talk of Disney's recent creative bankruptcy and overly high focus on remakes, I wanted to see if people are excited about this movie they are releasing in 5 months, which is a new original story. I think the character designs look good and finally there is an actual villain, the plot is intriguing as well. What do you think? Quote In “Wish,” Asha, a sharp-witted idealist, makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force—a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, Asha and Star confront a most formidable foe—the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico—to save her community and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen. 1
50thStateofMind Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 I way prefer this animation style over the Frozen/Moana style... 1
vale9001 Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Yes i saw the trailer when It came. The story seems a little bit standard in the Disney princess style (even if the character maybe he's not exactly a princess) but the animation is very different and interesting.

They used this animation style a little in the latest Puss In Boots movie and it worked great there so I think it will be nice here as well.
sweetblindness Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Not really. Their storytelling and animation style both feel increasingly stale, especially compared to recent animated juggernauts like Spider-Man and Puss in Boots.
thatsmydemi Posted June 6, 2023 Posted June 6, 2023 Already looks like the best animated film of the year
deal dough Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 bland design tbh the protag reminds me of that one girl from Raya but who knows maybe the story will be decent

This. the princess and the frog was the last Disney animated movie that felt like Disney. I hated the 3D animation style of the 2010’s. It felt like what every other studio was doing. this definitely feels like more of a return to form. Edited June 7, 2023 by Novacaine 1
CottageHore Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 Is it just me or does the animation look unfinished? It’s giving 2003 straight to DVD
Karla Cabello Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 i legit tought this was fanmade based on isabella from encanto
DamianSolo Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 To be completely honest, I'm looking forward to all of the remakes and sequels. I've been enjoying them all. The only one I didn't care too much for was The Lion King. I'm always hesitant to watch Disney's original animated movies, I always feel like I won't enjoy them, but I'm in love with the newer ones that I've watched.
Bacardo Royale Posted June 7, 2023 Posted June 7, 2023 When You Wish Upon A Star is the best Disney song so I love that they're making a movie based on that concept
Zaynsus Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 It doesn't look like a musical movie (I'm sick and tired of these characters having to sing about every goddamn feeling they feel), I think I'll watch it, the animation looks nice.
