Hector Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 The *****-produced SOUR was huge, debuting at #1, where it remained for five weeks. It has sold north of 18m units globally and has crossed 4.8m in ATD domestically. Two of its singles—"drivers license" and "good for you"—have reeled in more than 1.8b global Spotify streams, while two others, "traitor" and "deja vu," are hovering at or around 1.2b. Keep your eye on the clock; something sweet may be arriving soon. https://hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=336185&title=HERE-COMES-OLIVIA- No wonder why SOUR is considered one of the defining albums of the 2020s.

Jude Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 18M units WW? Wtf. This is like a TF size debut success.
KatyPrismSpirit Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 18 million? whew Yes, Olivia. Yes most defying early 2020s female artist.
KatyPrismSpirit Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Not them teasing the title with "something sweet may be arriving soon". I honestly wish OR2 is called Bittersweet or Sweet.
Carry My Heart Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 (edited) I'm assuming the 18M WW figure is overall units from albums and singles, yes? Edited June 4, 2023 by Carry My Heart
skysailing Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 18 Million! Wow! Just like The Fame by Gaga and/or Let Go by Avril! Didn't know she's this HUGE!

Solaria Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 We love seeing new women succeed like this. Shake the industry up Olivialegend
Ratviolo Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Deserved all of its success, can’t wait for OR2 to save 2023

LOL. Hope it's not going to be a taste album lol.
pride4jc1222 Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Whether OR2 does well or flops in the US is going to depend on whether she can win over a GP, which has changed since Sour, that is still streaming Sunflower and Heat Waves.

What? Sour has great recurring streaming stats. It’s doing better than brand new releases. If Future Nostalgia hadn’t had a deluxe edition re-release with 19 songs it’d be the most streamed 2020s female album with just 11 songs, 4 over a billion. There’s nothing to win over. She just needs a good rollout. That’s what harmed Happier than Ever for example Edited June 4, 2023 by liquiddiamonds
MingYouToo Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 Random thought but the lengthy wait for her release date is giving me Christina Aguilera career trajectory Will OR2 be her Stripped? Where she say f*ck you to Taylor 1
liquiddiamonds Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 I feel there’s a bit of coded language surrounding OR2 on this forum that actually means: “let’s see if she will smash now that Taylor has repeaked and she doesn’t have the Swifities backing her as much as during her debut” It’s crazy how the tables turned for her here ever since the credit thing. All of her numbers point out that she will do well. The worst scenario would be a frontloaded era. I’m much more interested if she will have a leap as an artist or just play safe for the kids
Taylena Posted June 4, 2023 Posted June 4, 2023 ATRLers keep saying that Chartmasters inflates their numbers but Sour is "only" at 12.5M units there while HDD says 18M.

ATRL Moderator Ampersand13 Posted June 4, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted June 4, 2023 Massive honestly, no arguing against it. I genuinely think she can do it again but regardless this is huge
