discussion Has discrimination on Twitter gotten worse since Elon took over?

I mentioned this in another thread over Uganda LGBT laws, in the tweet linked so many comments and likes celebrating this and encouraging the death of LGBT folks. Multiple accounts showing white supremacist have gained blue checkmarks saying how black people are monkeys and pro-white things. I saw a homophobic tweet with other 100k likes and saw a 2 black journalists get brigdadged because they said they experienced racism while in a European country. It's gotten exhausting being on Twitter recently and I'm thinking of flat out leaving 

 

Has it always been like this and why are we and other minorities not boycotting yet?

I don't think so, I haven't seen it on Twitter. Unless I am not looking hard enough. I use it for the hotties and pxrnographic materials then never touch again.

They just need to pay 5 dollars and get promoted to be on top of the replies instead. That's how the bigots have found a new relevancy at new Twitter.

Andrew Tate's tweets and Musk would even show up on your timelines unpromted if you make a brand new acc.

Edit: also they are not gonna ban paying users who are barely keeping Twitter afloat. Musk intentionally bankrupt Twitter for this purpose.

Also, Twitter is running on skeleton crew right now, nobody is gonna review/moderate those reports. Unless you directly call Musk a shithead, a coward, a scum of the earth, you're safe from bans.

1000% and it’s actually terrifying. I no longer use Twitter after stumbling on the most disgusting verified accounts calling for the deaths of LGBTQ people and elevating white supremacy. It feels like we’ve slipped into the hell timeline with how emboldened these people have gotten once more.

It has always been bad. I only use twitter now to follow things of my interest (for entertainment), so I don't bother to even look for content like that anymore. Too much of a headache.

Yeah, and overtly so. Isn’t that pretty much it’s brand and the thing keeping Twitter afloat right now? As far as I’m aware it only serves two purposes, those being spreading hate and looking at amateur porn

It's become more noticeable. Under the tweets about Mizzy - the guy who broke into people's homes for clout, there are people openly posting alt-right memes, calling him the N word, talking about crime etc 

 

Twitter has always been a cesspool, but with Elon manning it now, it's gotten worse.
