I like dogs more but I was raised in a “dog family” so it’s what I’m used to.  I want to adopt a cat as well when I buy a home, though.

I like the attention dogs give me lol + my bf and I have a really cute frenchie who has a huge personality

Because most gays are afraid of commitment + they want to go to as many circuit parties as possible, and cats don't require as much care and time :giraffe:

This lol

Cats are easier for people with busier lives.

I personally wouldn’t mind cats if they didn’t scratch and shed everywhere!

I own two poodles. They are hypoallergenic lol

I barely know any gays with cats

Whenever I go to a grindr hookup's house and they have a pet, it's a dog

I have my two inside cats and two neighborhood cats that live on my patio and I love them all

Cats are preferred to dogs for me because I travel for work, and between September to April I'm usually out of town every weekend.  I also live in an apartment and owning cats is a lot easier to maintain than a dog, which to me needs a yard or very consistent walks and I can't provide either.

When I get a house, I'd like a dalmatian though. I had one as my childhood dog and I would love to bring one into my family again :heart2:

Really? In London at least, they seem obsessed with French Bulldogs.

No idea why, I find them kind of ugly.

you know what they say... dogs look like the owners

i'm a dog person by far. cats are cute but dogs are superior in every way.

From personal experience, Cats because they are not reliant on me to do anything, and funnier to be around. Dogs are cute but, they are annoying especially the big ones. I have lived with people who have dogs that bark a lot during the night, don't get started on the dog owners that let their guard dogs (in this case rottweilers) roam the grounds when guests are coming over.

dogs will start barking nonstop for hours as soon as they hear an other dog barking in the distance or a small noise outside

This right here is why cat are superior. I recently moved and are lot of dogs in my neighbourhood. The slightest movement causes a chain reaction of constant barking, and howling. Thankfully my bedroom is soundproof.

Not according to the poll. Gays prefer cats over dogs by a 15% margin. While over 90% of straight men prefer dogs.

I love both, but right now it's easier for me to take care of a cat than a dog.

The fact that those little annoying, selfish  scratchy biches who will bite u anytime they want   are wining this poll by a narrow margin in a gay forum, will tell dogs already won.

Cats except some very few cases, they are mostly indifferent and they need you literally only for food.. Also cats are for lazy people who hate trying to get out of their comfort zone and do something better or go out for some fresh air at least twice a day, the definition of a boring and meaningless life unless you have a valid  reason for it..

Cats will never be man’s best friends, dogs are the most popular pets for a reason

I had a dog for 14 years till she died, she was very sweet and I loved her company but after that I've just came to the conclusion that cats are much better pets. I would only have a dog again if I ever live in a big house, and even still I don't know if I would be able to give the dog enough attention. Cats are much more indepedent which is very nice, they're still very lovable.

Dogs perpetuate straight culture :fish2:

Cats are more independent and self-sufficient I suppose :gaycat1:

I have 2 cats and they're really fun to be around, even though they're pretty destructive. I'd say they are pretty loyal as well

I prefer dogs, can't even give cats a real bath so they don't stink... plus they do their business inside the house.... no thank you.

Going on walks with my dog >>>> Also some cat owners are the worst at keeping their cats on their property only. I'd wake up to find cat paw prints all over my car in the mornings... or the neighbor's cats chilling on the patio furniture. We never owned cats!

cats are passive aggressive, shady, moody, just like our personality :kitty:

i personally prefer cats, but i do have gay friends who have/love dogs. i think it depends on your personality, i like my space and i feel like a dog would be too clingy and always in my face and requiring my constant attention and care. plus you have to take them outside multiple times a day, which can be a fun form of exercise but not at 6am every single day when it's raining.

i'd be interested to see some evidence whether the stereotype is true, in my experience it seems pretty even, cats and dogs are by far the most popular pet choices but i don't think gays prefer one over the other as a demographic. even the poll in this thread seems fairly evenly split
