No, future generations who will probably live a on a even more war/nature destroyed planet and will have completely different priorities will laugh and mock us  and probably even hate us because we were so dumb enough to obsess over influencers and give the celebrity culture any sort of meaning

This has to be a joke right?

its going downhill from here. The new generations are dumb af & naive.
a bunch of tiktokers who arent ashamed to post anything there.

OT:  kind of, for beauty standarts def. but not as on impact overall.

No. Marilyn Monroe was the original controversial female public figure and owned very a unique image that is deeply invested in America's media history. This is a one time challenge and there is no second chance. Just like nothing came close to Greco-Roman history  until the rise of USA and the British Empire.

Similarly most of the modern music celebrities will never come close to MJ, Prince, Madonna, Whitney, Elvis etc. In fact modern MPGs that debuted in 2010s cannot even compete with Beyonce's and Britney's generation forget about the 80s and 90s.

20th century American historical figures wont ever be replaced or duplicated. We are past of US 'classical' period or at the very end of it.

if we assume that everything will remain the same in 50 years, like the overall stability of the world/society yes I would agree with you, but sadly I think the society will have much bigger problems to worry about

Kim left a movie too.

Part of the reason people idolize Marilyn, Kurt Cobain, Elvis, etc is because they died young. They're forever young and in their peak in our minds.

Kim will age, get bad surgery, and will lose her iconiqueness over the next few decades.

No, those kind of icons born only when they die young in a tragic way.

No. She won't be forgotten but these attempts I've seen in the last few years to say she is the modern day Marilyn are seriously delusional. It's a narrative being pushed for some reason but it's way off :rip:

she's not as "beloved" as marilyn was but she's more famous tbh

She'll be remembered but not in the same light as Mariyln. I don't see as how they are compared and on the same level. She wore Marilyn's dress once and damaged it?

Patently untrue but also what do they “stan” the kardashians for?

This isn’t true at all. She’s actually ranked as one of the greatest actors of all time. She was actually a solid comedic actress.

That remains a mystery to me :celestial5:

No. Yes she's famous, but legendary imo.

Amy Winehouse will become a pop culture icon in the future again, I am sure!

Of course. She’s already more famous than Marilyn ever reached tbh. She’s reached an icon status that it’s ridiculous to call her an “influencer” when she’s literally a A-List celebrity. Love her or hate her, her impact, fame and power are undeniable and she really did THAT. She herself probably never even expected it to be this long-lasting and high level of fame but it happened and tbh she more than deserves it cause the girl doesn’t stop working ever. From filming, to other gigs to her paparazzi outings to attending events I’ve always stopped to wonder “does she ever get tired?” It’s crazy cause none of her sisters are as hard working as she is so she more than deserves her icon status.

I don't think Kim will ever be as iconic or timeless as Marilyn but she's definitely the most popular sex symbol since MM. The Kardashians will be known for their controversial celebrity status and impact on beauty trends in the early 21st century.

Nope.

No.

Bold of you to assume the Kardashians will be remembered in 50 years

Don't insult Marilyn like that, please. It's bad enough the dress was destroyed.
