MoonGoodandHappy Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 Do you think people will talk about her like we talk about Marilyn Monroe today and will be as impactful ?
vale9001 Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 (edited) Why her and not others more impactful hollywood/music stars?. There are soooo many of them. Edited May 20, 2023 by vale9001
Johnny Jacobs Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 Def.. She's 15 years in the game and still growing and being one of the most powerful women in the world. 90% of the world use her as a beauty standard. Say what you will about her but she's up there. 1 1 2
Popular Post M!X Posted May 20, 2023 Popular Post Posted May 20, 2023 No, future generations who will probably live a on a even more war/nature destroyed planet and will have completely different priorities will laugh and mock us and probably even hate us because we were so dumb enough to obsess over influencers and give the celebrity culture any sort of meaning 17 1
favorite crime Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 she's not as "beloved" as marilyn was but she's more famous tbh
WEEKND Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 I’m not sure she’s a beauty icon but the thing with Marylin is that even if u hated her personal life / called her a **** or whatever once u watch one of her films u suddenly remember why she was famous cuz she was funny as **** and very charismatic. How to marry a millionaire is a legit good time lol. i like Kim but none of her charms will be captured on camera (ugh I’m realizing this is a set up for someone to use her porn 😂 but wtv) so I don’t know. People hate Kim so much I’m not sure lol
Zaram Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 How can you even come to the thought to compare Monroe with Kim 2
Mike91 Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 Marylin came up during the golden age of Hollywood, made iconic films, died young, and was seen as a tragic figure in pop culture history. That's why she's as remembered as she is. There's a lot about her life that's managed to keep people's intrigue over the decades. Kim is pretty much famous for being famous and there have been an endless amount of those types over the decades who have largely gone on to be forgotten about over time. Only difference with her is that she's managed to have longevity with it. However, beauty standards come and go. 6
Gwendolyn Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 no. Also the beauty standard has been shifting away from the Kardashians for a while now
Donquizote Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 Future generation will probably laugh at us for worshipping someone who lacks of talent like her. 1
Feanor Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 No. Marilyn's tragic and premature death at the peak of her fame is largely the reason why her story and iconography have endured all these decades later. Tragic deaths always cement a celebrity in the public's mindset, as sad as that is to say. Look at James Dean, who'd probably have been a forgotten heartthrob of the 50s if he had gone on to live a long life, but because of his tragic death, he has sort of become the male counterpart to Marilyn Monroe. Kim's peak fame arguably lies in the past already and she'll hopefully lead a long life with her children and family, but it'll also mean that she'll slowly phase out of relevance.
imabadkid Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 No. And for all their faults, the Kardashians (specifically Kim and Kris) are v aware, they're always looking at data and analytics. They know they're fading - hence the endless PR relationships (Timmy T., Bad Bunny, etc.) and hence Kim pushing North into the spotlight more. But I don't think she'll be forgotten but she won't have the iconic glamorous brand MM had.

PrettyHurts Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 Not really she’s extremely famous and impactful, however she isn’t as beloved. Her contributions to culture will not be looked at fondly
JoeAg Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 no way in hell Marilyn is a fixture and a symbol of the beauty, freedom, grace, and tragedy of Americana. her level of freedom was obviously not nearly enough, but her personality and self-expression are what made her an absolute legend. she went through it all and a half and she proved to be a lasting cultural icon and pioneer for celebrities everywhere. Kim has none of those qualities, she’s quite frankly hollow 2
samsclubPRESENTSavam Posted May 20, 2023 Posted May 20, 2023 I think she's less mysterious. Marilyn was more of a mystery as there was significantly less branding and ways for fans to access their fave back then. I think she'll have a place in the book but not the same way. 1
