Non-vegans who are against fur are hypocrites, agree?

Recommended Posts

They object to fur due to the harm it causes animals, yet regularly consume products from industries, like meat, dairy, and eggs.

The meat and dairy industry are way worse than the fur industry in every single way: A higher number of Animals suffer more and longer, they are bred only to be killed, live on **** conditions throughout all their lives and have a highly negative environmental impact.

BuT FuR is a LuXuRy WhILe FoOd is a NeCesSiTy!!!

LIES. A healthy vegan diet is possible, rendering animal product consumption a choice rather than a requirement.

Non-vegans who advocate against the use of fur are hypocrites. Do you agree?

Totally agree. It's funny when they get so worked up against fur, yet every day they cause animals to suffer exactly the same way so they can eat their meat :rip:

A healthy omnivorous diet is impossible, for non-psychopaths it requires a huge amount of cognitive dissonance and accelerates climate change due to the practices needed to farm animals for the global populous.

I got a wistful penalty for posting this, when a mod before me posted anti-scientific propaganda. ATRL is ridiculous. No wonder everyone wanted to delete their accounts after the mess of being able to view other users profiles for hours on end.

The problem with being a vegan is it comes with a lot of nuances and inconveniences. Can you ensure that every social gathering and events you go to offers vegan food? Do you have the time to go through every listed ingredient to make sure there's no animal matter? That could mean having to google every single ingredient you're unsure about, since some aren't very obvious.

Wearing a fur alternative does not come with any of these nuances. You can keep yourself just as warm with other materials.

Not everyone can go vegan, I tried and I couldn’t, my nutritionist banned it from my diet.

Another big reason is that it’s really expensive and being vegan is kind of a middle-upper class thing.

Most people WW can’t afford it.

So stop shaming people for this, it’s extremely annoying honestly

nope, being vegan/vegetarian is a privilege...A LOT of people cannot afford it.

stop being the damn diet-police for something a lot of folks donʻt have much control over.

Wearing fur on the other hand...serves literally no purpose.

Vegan ethics are not a privilege. Anyone can hold the ethical views of a vegan regardless of income and do what they can to reduce suffering.

Posts like this serve no purpose. Flattening veganism to a mere “diet” is ridiculous and completely ignores the larger goals of veganism which seeks to end animal exploitation as well as the commodity status of animals. Freegans are people who eat dumpster food regardless of whether the contents are technically vegan because the food exists outside of the formal food system for instance.

Not all people could maintain a vegan lifestyle. There are people who tried but simply is unhealthy for them.

Meat is food; fur is worn. You can opt for faux fur. But there are people who would need to incorporate meat on their diets whether they like it or not.

It's completely understandable where you're coming from, and nobody should be shamed for their dietary choices, especially given their unique circumstances. Maybe I did generalize a bit in the OP.

HOWEVER, I’m talking specifically about those people who can afford and have access to a vegan diet, but they just don’t because it’s an inconvenience for them or they just like meat and dairy too much to stop consuming them, and they don’t even make the effort to reduce their meat intake.

Like alright… you do you, but then don’t go advocating against the fur industry when you support a far worse industry on a daily basis.

I’ve met a huge number of non-vegans zoomers and millenials who have told me that fur should be illegal, yet most of them eat animal products daily, when they are financially capable of going vegan or at least inform themselves on alternatives. That’s hypocrisy for me.

I personally have reduced my dairy consumption 90% and try to get my protein from vegan supplements, try to eat chicken and meat a lot less than before.

Is not perfect but my diet needs excessive amounts of protein so all I can do is reduce meat/dairy consumption and try vegan supplements.

I honestly think is better to promote the idea of people consuming as little as possible instead of something that is 100% since it’s impossible for many for health/financial reasons.

The 100% thing is the part that is unsustainable for most people.

Generally, yes. I've never had a problem with fur so as long as it's not an endangered species or something. I can't eat meat and pretend to be bothered by fur. :michael:

Weren’t you the user who said users should be banned if they disagreed wi to trans women competing against cis women? Plenty of people would consider that anti-science. I just don’t think it’s appropriate for a mod who agreed with Candace Owens that veganism is a cult should spread misinformation in this thread about the ethics of meat and fur.
