MoonGoodandHappy Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Would u have preferred to live in France in the 1920s or in the U.K in the 60s ? France U.K. What would be your favorite era to live in ?
VinylKing Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 The UK...it is too much work to look great each time you leave the house. So that's a no for France...
Gorjesspazze9 Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Well I’m a Black Man, so I would be screwed either way
bliaz Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 I am a brown Latino, I don't know which one would treat me better
Jotham Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Paris Quote Paris in the 1920s and 1930s was the home and meeting place of some of the world's most prominent painters, sculptors, composers, dancers, poets and writers. For those in the arts, it was, as Ernest Hemingway described it, "A moveable feast". Paris offered an exceptional number of galleries, art dealers, and a network of wealthy patrons who offered commissions and held salons. The center of artistic activity shifted from the heights of Montmartre to the neighborhood of Montparnasse, where colonies of artists settled. They met at the cafes there, around the intersection of Boulevard Montparnasse and'Boulevard Raspail, at the cafés ‘’Le Jockey’’, Le Dôme, La Rontonde, and after 1927, La Coupole.
Kimi Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 If I lived in 1920s i would also live in the 1940s and why would i want that
Stankonia Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 UK in the 60's just to live through the Supremes mania
Da Vinci Posted May 10, 2023 Posted May 10, 2023 Why would you wanna live during the 1918-1920 Influenza global pandemic and with the Great Depression and WW2 on the horizon
Feanor Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 1960s easily. With the 1920s, World War II would always be looming at the back of my head (not to mention I'd have to live through it), so no thank you ma'am.
The7thStranger Posted May 11, 2023 Posted May 11, 2023 Paris in the 1920s, easily. Nobody said I had to stay there during WW2. As interesting as the UK in the 1960s may have been, I'm just generally not a big fan of the country overall. I think I would be miserable. Not to mention the UK's attitude toward queerness in the 1960s.
