Gorjesspazze9 Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 (edited) Disney+ is claimed by fans as a “Babysitter app” and detrimental to other Disney Theatrical properties. If you were CEO of Disney or an Executive of the Disney+ branch, what would you do to gain Subscribers? Spoiler should they put more budget into mid-size content, or push thier Leading franchises Marvel & Star Wars More? Mado has lost a lot of relevancy since 2019, and Marvel Disney+ shows aren’t elevating the quality of the MCU as much as fans anticipated. Should they aim at making more HBO level drama’s, spread thier demographic ranges? Or just hire better screenwriters and actors in future Disney Originals. As a Subscriber myself, I really only use it for Marvel content, and nostalgia 90’s & 2000’s Disney channel shows/Movies. I think Disney needs a totally new franchise or brand. Try to make another renaissance with Disney princesses or teen-adult type of animation series in the vien of The Last Airbender. Something new and fresh that has wide appeal is what I feel they are missing. Also more Dramatic storytelling series to compete with Netflix & HBO viewers. Like imagine a Disney Stranger things live action series, but incorporating classic dark Fairytales. Just a thought. What would keep you as a subscriber? I honestly think we need something new. JonginBey Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 The best thing Disney can do right now is hurry and release the Daredevil series.

ariananext Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 I don't know if it's just me but the user experience is terrible for me, if the power/wifi goes off it takes around one hour to load because it says there's no connection, or when I first turn on the tv, open the app and try to watch something it says the content isn't available, it goes back to the home, the content I wanted to see disappears and I have to look for it again
vale9001 Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 (edited) In Europe there Is a section called "star" full of "adult" contents (most of them are hulu contents) but also 20th Fox movies. Also they are producing stuff for adult people. In Italy they made an Italian series from the acclaimed gay director ferzan ozpetek, an Italian series called "the good mother" (It won as best series at Berlino movie festival ) about a group of women on a mafia family. They're working on a kolossal period drama called "the lions of sicily" from the biggest best selling book of the last years here. They are all presented as Disney plus series, even for adults. On Disney plus here you can found basically every ABC series (grey's, desperate housewives, Scandal, Lost etc..) and also all the Fx series (american horror story, sons of anarchy and everything). I watched Yesterday gone girl by David fincher on It. I have a subscription only because i can see all ABC series, hulu, original drama Italian series and Fox Touchstone pictures movies. I don't see basically anything from Marvel, star wars and Disney . Fire Island here is a Disney plus exclusive movie Edited April 29, 2023 by vale9001

We wanted everything from ABC, Hulu, Fox, and Disney to live in Disney+, but instead, most of the good content is on Hulu. So, the Disney+ site is really just Disney original IP, Star Wars, and Marvel, which is why the OP is pointing out how it sucks. There's really no reason to stream from the actual Disney+ site in the US outside of those three categories.

GeminiCat Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Realistically, I don't see an immediate fix until they can merge the Hulu content into one big service (sorta like how the European D+ operates) and ease up at least a little on the strict family only rule (again, this ties into getting Hulu merged and making a "Star" tab). I really thought their original programming would be better but most of it is so cookie cutter and sanitized of any personality or charm. Sad, this service should've been an even bigger game changer.
