Lovett Posted April 23 Posted April 23 I can't quite express how obsessed I am with this song right now. I can't stop listening to it.
Lost In Paradise Posted April 26 Posted April 26 just got back from NY and saw: Stereophonic - 11/10: deserves all the hype. amazing acting and the way they integrate the music is perfect Doubt - 8/10: the two leads were great but I needed a little more tension. it felt rushed The Outsiders - 8/10: surprised how much I liked this. the guys are hot, the music is fun, go see it. The Great Gatsby - 3/10: Jeremy and Eva are great but this show is not Cabaret - 4/10: dry revival that's not really saying much. and it's staged horribly for the round. if you're on the "fake" orchestra side, you'll look at backs of heads for 80% of the show Tommy - 9/10: an almost perfect revival of Tommy. vocals and dancing were fantastic. I just wanted a bit more spectacle. The Notebook - 6/10: fine. the older Allie and Noah are great but the rest of the show is boring.

Hector Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Just now, Almodusa said: Leading Actress in a Play lineup Right? A bloodbath! It'll really be between AHS legends Sarah Paulson & Jessica Lange. Jessica Lange is amazing in Mother Play, but Sarah Paulson genuinely gives the best performance of her career in Appropriate. I think she's winning 1

fridayteenage Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Kinda surprised the elderly versions of the notebook characters both got lead noms I haven't looked into it, but the original movie was very centered around the young versions and wasn't seen as an awards thing

That's what confuses me. Were there tied votes in featured musical actor & actress? One having 6, and the other having 7. The rest have 5.
Mouni9248 Posted April 30 Posted April 30 i watched mothers play and jim parsons was the best out of all 3!

It was so sad to not see Joy's name in the nominations. But I'm thrilled that Eden Espinosa is finally a Tony nominee! And Shoshana getting her second nom! Can't wait to see them there celebrating together.
Hector Posted April 30 Posted April 30 (edited) GoldDerby predictions: https://www.goldderby.com/odds/combined-odds/tony-awards-2024-predictions/ Merrily We Roll Along & Appropriate to deservedly do well Can't wait to see Jonathan Groff & Daniel Radcliffe finally win, as they were both sensational. Hell's Kitchen with those 13 nominations I wouldn't be surprised to see upset in some categories, potentially Best Musical. It'll be interesting to see the precursors to see which performance gets the most buzz in lead actor in play, Leslie Odom Jr or Jeremy Strong (who I feel I always hear more raves about his performance). fridayteenage Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I just learned that only 2 of the winning producers get trophies initially. Everyone else has to pay $2500 each if they want a trophy. Makes sense. Giving out dozens of trophies for just one category wouldn't be very profitable for the organization.

chiliam Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Miss Lange is such an acting legend. Like 2 Oscar, 3 Emmy, 1 Tony, all real acting award, none are charity And she is coming again Still sad about Lea cannot win her well deserved Tony. Like she would be snatching that 99% if she was eligible

Like she would be snatching that 99% if she was eligible well, last year they had her announce noms, present a category, and perform at the ceremony. so she may be a priority for her next production.
Almodusa Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Just looked at the (American) Triple Crown of Acting winners list… if Jessica wins, she'll become the first person to complete it twice 1
