Maestro Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 No ab routine can replace a good diet Dropping 15% or less body fat and a few ab exercises will be plenty to get great abs. We all have the muscles, they’re just not visible for most 1
shookspeare Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 I cut out alcohol entirely and suddenly I had abs within a few months

Happylittlepunk Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Intermittent fasting. I basically don’t eat until 5pm or 7pm. It’s done wonders.
JoeAg Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 I feel u, I've been gaining weight for kinda the first time in my life, and I miss the abs I had age 15-23 I'm chill with my arms but I wanna get back to a strong torso before I get any tats there
CottageHore Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Y’all can’t be serious for two seconds As some have insinuated- no ab workout is going to spawn visible, ripped abs if your body fat percentage is in the 16%+ range. Focus on losing visceral fat in the belly first, which means upping the cardio and being at a calorie deficit. At the same time- eat a ton of protein. I’m no expert but I think it’s like 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight a day. But I’d fact check that. For an ab workout, if you want to increase the size of your abdominal muscles, doing ab workouts with weights is vital. I do the following… - Oblique weight plate leans, plate above head or at neck level. - Hanging knee lifts, alternate one knee up at a time. - DB floor wipers, side to side. - Dumbbell russian twists- slow and controlled. - Single arm DB crunch, 12 reps each side. - Full extension plate crunches, 10 reps, 2 sets. There’s no need to overdue it. Just be consistent and do it about 3x a week. I only listed abdominal workouts that you can do at home as I currently don’t have access to a full-blown gym with equipment.

Targeted fat loss isn't real, kinda blows my mind that people still believe that working out a certain part of your body will make you lose fat there OT: Honestly ab workouts aren't strictly necessary if you do enough compound lifts. A proper full body workout will workout most if not all of your muscles in some capacity. If you can stick to a simple workout 3 times a week then you can throw in a couple of ab routines

I said lower body fat would mean your abs may become more visible. Whilst you’re dropping body fat, do some ab exercises so the muscles are bigger once you’ve lost some body fat. Cyanide Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 (edited) I do: Intermittent fasting running daily 100-200 crunches daily take psyllium husk It’s done my body wonders and also makes me feel more confident NO fast food. No soda (unless getting a drink while out) very few sweets. If I order out I try to get lower risk foods like tacos or waba grill or if there’s something I’m craving just get the ingredients and make it myself, it’s at least a bit healthier that way I would post receipts but I’m afraid of who on here might be from LA and recognize me Edited April 26, 2023 by Cyanide
sha-nasty Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 They’re right, cut out sugars & fried/ processed foods, simple workouts w/ cardio every now and then should start yielding results.
Thinking Of You Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 Think about this, if you look at men, especially young men, in the 50s-60s, most of them were slim, toned, and had abs. Why? They only ate the required three meals a day, and that’s it. No continuous snacking. No super large meals. No fast food. They wouldn’t sit on their behind all day either. I’ve been working out for years but I started this diet last week and started doing a full body workout routine from the 1950s from the military, and I’m already starting to see the creases in my abs already. So calorie deficit and whatever ab workout everyday will work.
TheLastChord Posted April 26, 2023 Posted April 26, 2023 As most have said, diet is everything. You can definitely add a few ab routines here and there 2-3 times a week to increase their size. But you need to lower your bf %, that's the key.
