Yeah, especially when you don't have anything to do, although it hasn't really affected me emotionally/mentally I found myself engaging in very stupid arguments and such during COVID for example, when you have a job and/or a busy life it's harder to feel so invested.

Let's say people can be a bit unhinged sometimes, I may have done some petty **** in star wars but someone went as far as creating a fake discord account with my ATRL username and building history of bullying other members outside ATRL, not to mention people leaking private pictures of other members and trying to blackmail them, I still have PTSD from that week

well it's less toxic than the brazilian forum i used to be on

i've switched to ATRL cuz at least here i practice my english lmao so i feel less bad to be an active member 

but it's still toxic. it has stan twitter vibes and that alone makes it toxic.

2010-2013 was the worst. It was the era of shade even the pop girls were going at it on Twitter. Social media was just becoming a thing- there were no rules anywhere. 

 

Now it’s gotten too cookie cutter but I’ve gotten used to it. I miss the drama from back then though.

Omg I wasn't on ATRL at the time but I remember this from discord  Someone on discord (an ATRLer) found a bunch of pics of me and made them into a fancam, it's scary

Any place where some people with obvious mental health issues are kept around will naturally have toxic moments. However, arguments happen whether people are toxic or not, it's called free speech.

 

Compared to actually hatesites on the internet(twitter, lipstickalley etc) or sites that have active hate sections(reddit) then atrl is on the middle side of being too toxic.
