Don't know if this is a compliment or shade. I mean coconuts smell good. Maybe she's referencing Fantasy? That perfume smells good but is has a STRONG smell. Not to mention every girl that walked the face of earth wears it :gaycat7:

She's talking about the girls smelling like Britney's perfumes, i GET IT now.

i'm sorry but those lyrics are super shady, so girls that hang around in s**** clubs and do drugs smell like Britney?

she better keep Britney's name out of her insipid lyrics

She's obviously talking about how so many girls smell like Britney's perfume. There's no way that went over y'all's heads :rip:

I was about to object but reading the actual lyrics (there's a mistake on the first line on the tweet) it does feel kinda shady.

Not that girls from that world = smell like Britney, but that she's highlighting the Britney smell among what seems to be negative stuff? Can a Little Florist please explain?

I know for sure Florence is not shading Britney, but I gotta ask what connotation “Britney smell” has to her? Reading the song’s full lyrics, (imo) there’s some combination of disgust and appeal, so pops the question if it’s good or bad.

Look it might sound shady at first glance but bffr y'all, Miss Florence Welch does NOT throw out petty shades against other artists in her songs :deadbanana2: Britney's perfumes are incredibly popular in the UK. The girls love Britney's perfumes and thus smell like her, nothing more than that. It's a very neutral reference.

This is Florence we're talking about, she's not shading anyone. Seek help

This is Florence Welch we are speaking of, she would not shade anyone ever.

She also talks about these girls multiple times in the song, and it is always in a good light: The girls glitter striding glorious.

Saint Florence's kindness plus her poetry going over people's like @shyboi heads?

Shocking!

Maybe use that brain of yours before calling her lyrics insipid - which is one of the most ridiculous claims you can make of Florence.

Ain't that deep, let it go. And rude to tell me to use my brain about such a non issue.

Of Florence? I don't agree, she meant well and the full lyrics make more sense.
