Was 2021 the last good year for mainstream pop music?

Featured Replies

We are quickly approaching Summer and have NO big releases. The two songs competing for number one are either from last year, or by a racist country artist.

This time in 2021, we had Kiss me More, Levitating, Drivers License, Up, Leave the Door Open, Montero, the list goes on.

this year we have Flowers? What’s going on?

probably. i think 2022 had some great re-releases but 2020 was such a great year in music.

I think so, funny that because 2021 was pretty terrible for music/albums (there were still greats in there but compared to 2020 and 2022, a mess) but was really good for pop radio.

Actually I don't think 2022 was too bad, there were a lot of great hits once the drought of Q1 ended and As It Was let some other songs breathe nn but 2023's problem is probably that most of the hits so far were also from 2022. I think the year will start to get better over the next few months... but I imagine 2024 will be better than 2023.

2023 is kind of boring. We are only four months in thought give it until June.

2022 so far is better.

What songs came out in 2021? I really can't remember you guys. Edit: I looked them up, and I don't remeber not one expect for Rare
