Billie and Olivia did what Dua couldn't do, why?

Despite debuting in 2017, Dua never managed to chart in the global IFPI list. Billie & Olivia did it with as many/less albums, why couldn't Dua do it?

Spoiler

it took months of heavy payola, remixes and playlisting for both DNS and Levitating to start smashing which shows there's no organic interest in her music and it needs to be shoved down people's throats for months to finally click, while both Billie and Olivia have huge loyal fanbases, Dua's gay fanbase is gonna disappear the second she flops or releases something that's not as gay and she's gonna be forgotten even more than Katy's Witness because Dua has no charisma, no star power, no versatility in her voice & music, and her entire career is just a meme of "Dula Peep" that does nothing to her name other than making her a laughing stock. if her next album doesn't give her a real fanbase, DULA PEEP IS F******G OVER.

Nobody is listening to her music when said music is out of the vast amount of playlists. Can't fake the genuine interest artists like Billie and Olivia have.

Not this again

DSN, Levitating and CH all made it and FN made it twice, cry harder

You make some interesting points and I have to say I'm struggling to spot any lies

im honestly surprised you enjoy Billie considering how much you hate anything midtempo or ballady.

GP would rather listen to basic artists that don't have a lot to offer than a future pop icon, nothing new here

this.

Honestly Dua is STILL underrated despite being a global superstar and I know she has so much more to give that we haven't seen yet.

I think people overall dismiss her talent bc she's so pretty and may think she's shallow when in reality her talent and voice are pretty amazing, besides she's also very smart and sensitive and contributes significatively to the creation of her craft.

Dua was top 20 for both 2020 and 2021 (14th both years I think) so if you’re counting Billies 16th in 2022 then this whole topic is completely wrong.

You can take it off, I just counted it since it was her year off and I remembered the position.

But no entry when it comes to te artists one, which is the point of the thread. Says a lot if you can score « global hits!!! » and not enter it at the same time :rip:

What did Dua and her generic sounds bring? :rip:

There is no organic interest for Dua music from the GP, each of her singles needs months of payola and heavy playlisting to somewhat succeed. Olivia and Billie don't need that.

Olivia Rodrigo is avant-garde? she's a knock off Taylor Swift

I am only replying to them implying Dua brought something unique. Still, she has more identity than Dua Lipa (which isn’t saying a lot since Dua is the most random pop start of the last few years).

Well if you want an answer as to why Olivia made it and Dua didn't its because Sour's success all happened very quickly in one year. She was the break out artist and had 2 massive hits and still only just made the top 10. Future Nostalgia's success was too spread out (because she released BMH and not levitating) so Dua made top 15 two years in a row but not enough for top 10 on either year. Billie is different she was just massive since 2019.

Dua Lipa music is the epitome of basic H&M music. And that's fine, but let's not act like she isn't in the same tier musically as Anne-Marie and Zara Larsson.

OT: Her team focuses on singles and has not been able to create a real album, or establish a brand or fanbase for her. Maybe her next album will prove otherwise.

Olivia has zero identity she sounds like every other pop girly writing about their ex.

these forced dua lashings are so lame, specially using boring billie and copy cat olive

Levitating (solo) alone is better than Billie and Olivia's whole career

Olivia only had 11 songs to make it, not playlists like Dua  :dies:

FN was released in march while SOUR was released in may, not the "too spread out!" excuse, especially when Dua already had DSN & Physical for january-march :dies:

Just like anyone could sing Dua's music...? She basically copied her last album's sound from Kylie/Carly :skull:
