Currently Gaga is #30 at Billboard Artist chart, while Beyoncé is #67 (despite of new album last summer and two hit singles), why?

Sometimes I think ATRL really underrates Gaga’s pull in the US.

 

Projects like ARTPOP, Joanne and Chromatica might not give her a lot of longevity but she has still enough pull with her first three albums + ASIB to still be high on streaming and radio there. Having four projects with longevity is more than a lot of other ATRL faves

thanks for reply, I checked and found out that Selena (#63) is higher than Beyoncé in Artist chart too

She's not streaming more than Beyoncé & Rihanna in the US though so...yeah

I didn’t say she was. But often people try to depict that Gaga is commerically over in the US when she has four projects with longevity there, which is still an impressive feat.

they talk about how monsters are 'insufferable arguing!!1' and how 'over-rated' she is and she's liteally coming out high on so many different factors. She has albums that chart WW, is just outside top 10 most streamed females with no album in years, lands award noms every year without fail, just come off a tour with a very good ticket gross per show. Also the way they vote these songs as bigger than songs like PF when they only did better on radio.

 

because Gaga isn't the girl that certain girls paint her to be.

Yes Interscope are notorious for pushing Gaga singles at radio, it makes so much sense!

 

Bloody Mary is finding delayed success at pop stations and HAC when it has already peaked on Spotify  — radio being late to the party shocker — plus it is still gaining streams on unofficial YouTube uploads that don’t count towards chart points, hence the low peak. And I thought we should know by now that chart peaks do not dictate a songs overall success? ARUTW also peaked at #41 and is about cross 1bn on Spotify and is a staple at this point for Gaga.
 

It’s also doing 893k on Spotify daily, more than Lift Me Up is currently doing which was far bigger at radio and a hit on more formats. Break My Soul — Top 10 on pop radio — isn’t even pulling 400k anymore, and doing numbers on par with supposed bomb Hold My Hand. It’s not an outlier.

 

And again this was all a last minute push for a 2011 song. No other versions or uploads or re-recording have been added to bolster streams that are typical practice now. But yes, payola!

 

 

Perhaps we have to come to the realization that those two are in the even playing field. I’m personally getting tired of making excuses for Beyoncé’.

Because the song peaked on streaming months ago, radio was slow to catch up.

This chart is a mess. They don’t count streams for albums, only pure sales.

They count, this chart is a combination of the tour, albums total units and singles points. It has the same rule with their all-time greatest BB200 and Hot 100 artist list

They do count, pure sales are just weighted at the same high rate they started at while it was lowered for Hot 100 through the years
