We saw the same thing with YouTube: a major shift from heavy music consumption on YouTube in western countries to Spanish speaking countries. Seems like it’s happening with the streaming platforms now.

In case of Youtube it happened because western countries abandoned the platform. On streaming services it's happening because those Spanish speaking countries are joining massively and they are a lot of people. When China, India and Southeast Asia start the same process the landscape will change a lot too.

Kind of yeah because I think his music sounds bad. Would rather have reggaeton clogging up the charts than this….

being a sonoran gay, i HATE HATE HATE post 2005 regional mexican music. its truly so uninspired. maybe bc ive listened to it my whole life i just cant vibe but idk its so grating so i hope this is not a trend.

he was innovating the genre since his debut he represents a new generation of regional mexicano

i am shook ngl. i know Peso Pluma is doing like a commercialized version of corridos, but still never imagined the genre would ever go this mainstream. Little me listening to corridos in Matamoros yet keeping track of the pop girls in the US would be SHOOK
