Artists without a Double Platinum eligible Album or higher?

Featured Replies

What are artists that are heavily pushed or payola'd that haven't been able to get at least a Double Platinum eligible album?

probably Demi?

also, what are Ke$ha stats? she has never been an album artist but she had such giagantic hits so she probably has at least one double platinum eligible album (if she doesn't, she should tho), but she's one that i wouldn't know for sure.

megan the stallion

did meghan trainor got it with her first album?

fifth harmony probably doesn't have a 2x platinum too

unfortunately i only think about female artist cuz i just don't care about male artists lmao

Alessia Cara

Her 1st album might be eligible tbh

Both Scars To Your Beautiful & Here are on it

Tove Lo sadly, although QOTC is platinum, not sure how close it is to 2x platinum.

Demi's self-titled has been eligible for years

And one of her producers got a RIAA plaque for TMYLM album selling over 2M in the US although it's never been officially certified

So no, not Demi

Edit: not to mention that Demi's albums have barely been heavily pushed or payola'd :rip:

How would that break down though?

Revival is barely 2X Platinum eligible with 2 Songs over 5 Million units & a nearly 4X Platinum eligible song

Demi probably has like 3 albums around 1.7M tbh:rip:

that's not true. demi has a decade long career of being a mainstream popstar, she's got heavily pushed in certain periods of her career (as she should've been, since she was a mainstream popstar and only stopped caring after DWTDTAOSO).

if demi never got heavily pushed, so countless popstars also never has been :deadbanana:

would anyone say fifth harmony never got heavily pushed idk just cuz the maximum singles they had was 3 from the same album? ofc they got heavily pushed!

DEMI (Album) had idk 5? radio singles and she's performed everywhere, that's heavily pushed, all of Demi's peers got heavily pushed some times in their careers, that's not me throwing shade at Demi!

the rest of Demi eras were shortlived but still got heavily promoted at some aspects (SNS & TMYLM (2 TTH covers and performances)| CFTS & Confident & Stone Cold)

Heart Attack: 5x Platinum*

Made in the USA: Platinum*

Neon Lights: 2x Platinum*

Really Don't Care: 2x Platinum

Let It Go: 2x Platinum

Up: Gold*

Warrior: Gold*

Album sold over 500k pure copies.

*Eligible

Some sources say LIG is eligible for 3x Platinum, Up for Platinum, Nightingale for Gold but I'm not sure about them.

Let me, again, make emphasis on the word HEAVILY. Would you say albums like Unbroken or Tell Me You Love Me were heavily pushed with only 2 singles? We are talking about periods in which people released up to 5-6 singles (especially during Unbroken's times).

Self-titled is the one that was truly pushed and milked. It got 4 official singles and a re-release with Let It Go and Up (Olly Murs's official single at the time).

Confident was an average era with 3 singles.

Her albums were pushed like any other popstar, but saying heavily pushed is kinda of a reach imo. If Tell Me You Love was heavily pushed then what's any of Dua Lipa's albums? As you mention, her eras are short-lived and most of the promo always go to the first single which is released months prior to the album release. Edit: with this last sentence I'm mostly referring to TMYLM.

How do you get an RIAA plaque from the RIAA without the album being certified by the RIAA?

Does anyone really believe that happens?

Ask him? He literally posted the plaque. People asked if it was for the single or the album and he said the album. I'm not making things up :skull:

Edit: you can check it yourself.  The plaque says over 2 million sold, not 2x platinum so maybe that's the reason it has not been officially certified yet. It's not the typical 2x platinum certification.

Edit 2: or maybe the plaque means 2 million pure units sold between all the songs + album? No idea tbh. Then again he said the album so

Low resolution image could mean anything. Real certifications are on the RIAA web site and I'm sure Demi's manager would remind them if they forgot to put the certification on the site.

Did Demi sell a huge number of physical albums? If you go to chartmasters and check other 2017 albums with similar streams, a large number are not RIAA multi-platinum. Some are, but most of those artists are pretty local and the USA might be one of the few countries where they are certified.

Some artists are undercertified and perhaps Demi is undercertified, but that isn't the same thing. You're claiming Tell Me You Love Me has been 2xRIAA Platinum since Nov 2022 or earlier, which is something the record label would have to pay for. But the RIAA somehow forgot to update the site and her record label and Scooter forgot to remind them?
