Mabel Tweets About Leaked Music

She should be appreciative of there being 2-3 people who care enough to listen to her music, released or not.

These girls need to stop acting entitled. If something leaks, it leaks. Ain’t no body formally releasing it to Spotify. If it wasn’t meant to be released just move on like you initially did…

But it's her work tho? :rip:  She likely wrote and recorded it so how does that make her entitled?

Well she got 10 more people than usual talking about her so that's a win.  And ALN is such a cute and harmless pop album so not here for the slander!

Creative expression and freedom is only possible through the process of experimentation and if something isn’t it out yet it’s for a reason.

@mabel Explain this then?

Same. Plus the majority of things that leaked are just demos that got released anywYs

I think that’s her point tho. Like imagine your boss or manager ‘leaking’ a piece of work you’ve been working on before you feel it’s ready to be shared. You’d probably be upset too.

Right? They sound so dumb. How dare she get mad that her work is released without her consent.

I really don't think anyone's checking for Mabel leaks. And tbh, when your entire discography is writing camp demos that are sent to everybody & their mothers, your songs are bound to end up leaking. And who cares, you're never going to use it anyway.

The only thing I hate is when a whole album leaks 6 months ahead of release (Slayyyter).

I say this with love, but it was awful. And again, I don't say that to be spiteful, I say it with disappointment.

I was invested in Mabel when she was smashing in 2019, and yes the debut album was bad, but a lot of debuts are (especially when you're from the UK). I even went to see her on tour. But she needed to step up the game & cement herself as an artist with the second album in order for me to stay hooked. And she completely failed at doing that.

writing camp sent to everyone and their mothers? she works with the same people and has been for years. why are you knocking her talent? her debut album was not bad at all. alot of yall og fans just switched on her when she stopped making rnb music. the label and management failed on their part when they didn't transition and promote her sophmore era properly. what happened to her ended up literally happened to ava max as well. if mabel still found commercial success with her last outing ya would be stanning and you know it

Agreed. It's manufactured pop perfection from start to finish

its so harmless idk why people were expecting something deep and profound especially when she let us know what she was gonna serve. take it or leave it

Same. I had high hopes for her when she released her debut album which was one of my favourite album of 2019. It's so sad how she fell off during her second album campaign. I hope she goes back to the sounds of her Ivy to Roses EP for her third album offering cause that's where she excels at and develop that sound.

if she goes back to her debut sound she will flop indefinitely. pop is what helped her breakout but she had a distinct pop sound. it was more on the lines of like ska, reggae, dancehall, afrobeats which is what she should've developed more. her catering to the gays only ended up biting her in the ass because look how they switched because well they're fickle as ****

There’s something shady going on there cause now it’s a pattern :skull:

She’s just embarrassed because of how MID it all is.

I didn't really like the single choices, but Definition, Animal and I Love Your Girl from ALN were top tier pop that deserved to be singles instead of what we got. In saying that, I did really enjoy Overthinking. It will be interesting to see the type of music she makes for her third album, noting that she had said in interviews that she feels more at home with the pop/dance songs as that is what inspired her into making music. I do agree with other's people views that she sounds more at home with her R&B sound with the occasional pop sounding songs like Don't Call Me Up and Mad Love.

Tbh I think it’s kind of a clever ploy - certainly helps engagement- I genuinely think it’s part of the reason Lana has such a committed fan base - they’re always being fed so they don’t lose interest.

she needs to meet in the middle considering her urban fans feel bitter about her abandoning them and their sound. lean into the afrobeats, dancehall and reggae and she should be fine. curious how she will be under dua's management. the 3 songs that you described are awesome songs from her last album. i like overthinking but i just wish that the structure was different so that the song sounds less jumbled
