Hot 100 Predictions: Kill Bill #1, PDR #4

Featured Replies

I hope she gets blocked, Kill Bill definitely deserved a #1, but not with this cheap remix.

All in all, it will probably end up being the #1 year-end song ala Levitating

Should've picked someone with a fanbase for the remix :cm:

BTS army, Swifties and Barbz are the only ones that care enough to mass buy a song these days.

And between them only Nicki would have fit on Kill Bill.

Honestly Kill Bill has just abnormaly low pure sales despite the remixes/discounts even compared to other artists with no big fanbases. Her audience just doesn't seem to buy songs at all.

They released the remix when the song is falling on airplay and when there's a gap of more than 50 points with Morgan instead of releasing it 2 weeks ago when there were like 3 points of difference :rip:

They released the music video in the middle of the tracking week when there was like only 1 point of difference with Anti-hero. That's why she has the worst team with the worst timing ever  :rip:

and i don’t entirely disagree with this. but my point is, the remix being released this week isn’t why she’s not getting the #1. the remix just didn’t sell enough :michael:

i’m sure somebody else with more demand could’ve closed the 50 point gap regardless.

Last Night was released on a Monday and doesn’t even have a music video. Kill Bill just hasn’t yet been the most popular song of the week. Her team can only do so much. If it’s #1 position was so precarious that a few days more of a music video would make a difference, then yeah it’s not a #1 song

I hope that Last Night maintains its streaming throughout the year (like Blinding Lights) and ends up as the Year End #1. The last 2 years, the song that ended up as the YE #1 didn’t really feel like the biggest song of the year. Stay felt bigger than Levitating (and as much as I don’t want to admit) AIW was bigger than Heat Waves. Levitating and Heat Waves got the YE #1 because the Billboard year ends in early November, lol.

Morgan Wallen is definitely cheating. I don't believe his getting those amount of streams. Something is off.

Just like Sza's autoplay week after week especially during SOS' first few weeks? The double standard.

Yeah, just like Abel was 3 years ago when Blinding Lights had god-like streaming numbers for months on end.

I think last night is bigger than blinding lights on Amazon music

SZA's team is not ass the song was just factually NOT the most popular song at any week

This is like 4th week her team tried to push the song for #1

1) MV + Autoplay actual fraud streams lol
2) The Remix EP
3) The sales discount/push
4) The DOJA CAT Remix

At this point you all should stop blaming SZA's team and accept the defeat lol

And don't try to push onto "SZA stans don't care about massbuying" cause this week is not about sales, a remix with someone like Doja should get a decent streaming performance enough to ignore the lack of sales but well it barely entered top 40 on Apple Music so :rip:

At least blaming it on her team is better than say Morgan is cheating when the song is #1 on basically every platform and it's even rising on Spotify

No and definitely not racist.

This is true, it just hasn’t been the absolute biggest song in any given week based on Billboard’s metrics and it isn’t like her team hasn’t tried. Plus, #1 or not, it’s most likely going to finish top 3 on the BB100 YEC and is a massive hit regardless. Sometimes this happens, a giant hit can not be the biggest song in any given week but be bigger than plenty of #1s due to its staying power.

This has been happening since the beginning of charts. Just because something is huge doesn’t mean it “should” get a #1 placement if it’s simply not the biggest in any 1-week period. We’ve seen from other recent examples like Levitating that you can even get a YEC #1 from longevity without peaking at #1 on weekly charts… same situation here.

What about its website sales? I saw they are selling it for 69 cents

true, but i feel like kill bill’s worst luck overall was flowers. she would of been #1 for like 7 weeks without miley releasing. and to be fair it felt like a #1 during january/february rather than right now.

If the #1 song of that week didn’t exist, another song would occupy that #1 spot, yes.

Kill bill was literally out streaming and moving more units than both flowers and anti-hero for most of their competing chart-run. Those songs just had insane 100m+ radio at the time which is hard to compete with

The pathalogic lying just cause can't accept the facts

Let's take a look at units every week Kill Bill was #2 (Gonna use @chartessentials estimates as they were the only ones adding units since January)

Weeks at #2 (#1 vs #2, Kill Bill)
1st 116.2k vs 208.9k (MV + Autoplay which explains the difference)
2nd 403.5k vs 244.1k (Still Autoplay + Remix EP released :rip:)
3rd 452k vs 235.3k
4th 341.8k vs 222.1k
5th 266.3k vs 225.2k
6th 232.3k vs 219.9k
7th 193.1k vs 203.5k (Boy's A Liar #3 was the best selling song of the week with 226.1k)
8th 156.6k vs 159k (Last Night #3 was the best selling song of the week with 239.4k)
9th 242.2k vs 158.6k

So only 3 out of its 9 week at #2 the song was the best selling song of the week, in 1 it was MV + autoplay impact which clearly has a massive impact on units and in the other 2 the gap was minimal and the song was still the best selling song of the week lol
