That's the illness of stan brain, they can't imagine liking a song without being parasocially attached to the artist and endorsing every choice the person's ever made in their private life.

 

(And let's not mention the hilarious irony of these same people campaigning for a #1 single for an artist who publicly endorsed removing gay men from the gene pool )

Yes, I'm shocked too   I've seen a lot of fans doing it multiple times but I've never seen the producer of the artist/song openly doing it and paying the fans to buy their song

This has to be the straw that breaks the camel’s back and forces Billboard to remove sales from the Hot 100 formula and cap the number of versions that counts towards a song’s Hot 100 points.

 

Billboard should have done this early 2020, instead of removing UGC streams.

The barbz were saying they will mass buy his song just to block SZA and Doja so it’s possible they’re involved in this random boost.

I doubt they remove the sales from the formula but besides removing the fraudulent sales they could also increase the sales divisor more to minimize their influence on the Hot 100.

 

Limiting the number of versions sounds a good idea (for example counting the 3 biggest versions of a song for a chart placement sounds fair)
