Anyone LGBT needs to start learning self defense just in case. Especially gay parents.

that echo a collective LGBT fatigue

This is again imagined from being online and not reflective in the real world.

Again, LGBT acceptance is at an all-time high and growing:

Normie cishets even largely support trans people. RuPaul's Drag Race is a national showed viewed by millions weekly. LGBT people are in the homes of every straight couple every Friday night.

Christian fascists will always hate LGBT people, no matter which hot issue comes out. Right now it's trans issues that are hot topic and they can get a lot of cringe material from social media to paint us in bad light. That doesn't mean we should remove ourselves from the conversation but fight back with good arguments and find good spokeperson. We ain't going NOWHERE baby.

What are you talking about?

What world have you people been living in?

Lgbt gains have been great but little in the time of everyone else's. Human rights have to be fought for. Our predecessors had to fight and we do too.

As long as religion and inadequate governance are the norm; the lgbt community will NEVER be safe.

Happy people do not hate. What you see is the result of unhappy people looking for a scapegoat. These losers have nothing in their lives, talk to them, ask them what do they do in their daily life; never anything worthwhile. They're empty suits parroting rhetoric from people being PAID and have no thoughts of their own.

Lgbt topics should've been taught in schools DECADES ago.

Lgbt protections should've been in place DECADES ago.

Nothing is new about this anti-lgbt fervor, this is age old conservative radicalism 101. The answer is more lgbt advocating, more feminism, more leftism and more progressive candidates in office. You don't back down in war, you go forward.

Most importantly that vid is of children, children are literally the products of their shtty parents. Easily influenced and misled. You have to teach children the right thing, they don't intuit it.

Canda is barely more ahead than america only because of better legal protections but don't be fooled, a majority white country with a native population that just so happened to go "poof" is never far from another with the same history.

Even the Ancient Greece and Rome were much more progressive on that matter than the present world.

It’s you, hi, you’re the problem - it’s you. :deadbanana4:

The Republicans are obviously trying to manufacture a new culture issue before the next election cycle because they saw it semi-working in Florida. I'm just hoping the election proves that the majority of Americans don't buy into it (like they didn't buy the whole critical race theory manipulation during midterms). We'll see what they come up with next, but yes, it's hurtful and scary to witness.

They, literally, elected a facist. Call it the Donald Trump effect, if you want.

Why all the replies clocking though? One thing about left media they love to twist things + fearmonger.

While I agree with you this doesn't make the threat any less real when the powerful and wealthy clearly are putting their money and power into making and passing legislation WORLDWIDE that is anti-queer. I think there's a difference between being alarmist and careful and I agree that these times are dangerous and queer people everywhere, including in the West, should take precautions and find ways to strengthen their communities and look after each other. History has had too many incidents of the powerful aiming at marginalized communities and the catastrophic results not to take the bigotry seriously.

Denounce Christ and its followers, like me :foxaylove2: It's funny how the constant vilification and dehumanization of targeted groups will turn them against you.

"Better the devil you grow" :clap3:It's their own fault for raising a generation of Anti-Christs, they created it themselves.

The public opinion on gay/lesbian/bisexual people is not going backwards; most western countries have reached a point where more people support LGB rights than not.

this this this

the truth is, the GP, on a mass scale leans towards neutral or fully support to the LGBTQ+ Community

what the media wants you to think is that we live in a extremist world and you are either loved or hated and there's no in between

the truth is, things are a lot better now for LGTBQ+ than 10 or even 5 years ago.

Even in my country, in the last 2 years we went from being able to married in only 2 estates to same sex marriage legalized in THE WHOLE COUNTRY.

Do not let anyone brainwash you that things are worst now or we are going backwards, we might not be where we want to be YET, but we are definitely not going backwards.

What is going on in this thread?? :gaycat7:

Anyway, celebrate the fact that LGBT topics and acceptance are at their highest point in history. For that reason there's a tangible backlash that makes it feel like we're regressing, but more people are out, successfully living their truth then ever before.

Steer clear from hyperbole takes which translate every form of difference in perspective or transgression into the most extreme form of hate, steer clear of negativity just for the sake of negativity. There will always be homophobes/transphobes/racists etc, does the video/viral tweet you're consuming online reflect your real life environment? If so work towards changing that environment because some cities/areas are way worse for LGBT than others. Focus on the bigger picture. Accept that centuries of conditioning do not change over night.

this thread is a mess... i'm lost trying to follow :deadbanana2:

unfortunately any time there is real progress in this country or society for any marginalized group you will always have opposition and those who want to fight it. but i do genuinely think there has been some progress forward. would I like to see more? of course and I do think it'll come.

trans people fighting for rights isn't "gender ideology" thats a term conservatives invented to dehumanise trans people :rip:

Okay? You get what I meant though.

I live in Texas and have seen only a little homophobia around me personally. I know for some maybe theyve seen worse. I guess it depends on your surroundings but personally it is getting better day by day.

Why do people continue to confuse drag queens with trans people???  This is so stupid, what's next?  Banning people from playing the opposite gender in theater?  :deadbanana4:

My sister once asked me if drag queens were trans :deadbanana4:

I rly do think most straight people (esp men) truly don't care. The people esp the men who go on long rants and get SO worked up about it have their own demons their fighting. does not mean they're closeted but they have rage about other issues and anger about their own sh*t and are using homophobia to project.

Why is a drag queen performing at a high school? :celestial5:

A lot of this culture war hysteria is manufactured by reactionary figures and media. Agree with everyone in here correctly pointing out that data paints a very different picture than what OP stated

Why shoudn't a drag queen perform at a high school? Schools host all kinds of events.
